Customer Rating: Summary: D-Link 4 port USB Hub Comment: Ordered via Amazon/kikatek.
Dispatched by 2nd.Class Mail and received in 2 working days. Won't go through the letterbox but was waiting.
Plugged in, switched on and the D-Link H-4 is working much better than my previous hub however, that may be because I thought the cheapest USB hub would do.
Highly recommended
Customer Rating: Summary: Ok so far...but not quite sure Comment: I bought this in Feb (4 months ago) as I needed a powered hub for my USB drive. Worked out of the box without any problems but now the power LED appears to start flashing/flickering at random times. The device still appears to work as normal but I am nervous especially as I do my image backups using it. I may well return it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Solves your USB power problems (eg. for external HDD). Comment: This is a well designed and constructed USB 2.0 hub with PSU brick. I recently bought a WD 250GB Passport drive which works OK on my Sony VAIO but not on any of three desktop PCs in the house due to limitations on the current available from their USB ports. The Passport drive has no provision for a power brick and the Lindy dual-USB cable also failed to spin up the drive. This powered hub worked first time on all three PCs, providing enough current from the USB port to spin up the Passport drive.
Customer Rating: Summary: Too much packaging / not clear it is powered Comment: Just received this (ordered on tuesday morning arrived on wed morn with super saver - not bad!). A few remarks that I think need to be made:
- Far too much packaging - I'm lucky I had it delivered to my place of work otherwise I would have to trek to the delivery office to pick up a 40 x 20 x 15cm size parcel. The router I bought had less cardboard around it, and that needed more 'protection' than this hub! I've noticed this being said in the reviews for a couple of electronics items - Amazon needs to have a look at this.
- Not clear it is one of the powered hubs - I eventually chose this one after dredging through the expanded tech spec. A need-to-know point, especially if, like me, you need to charge items like cameras, iPods etc.
- Dead simple to set up, only 4 steps in the manual (take out of box, plug in power and USb, turn on computer!). Nice long USB cable that looks quite sturdy.
Customer Rating: Summary: stands out from the rest Comment: An impressive piece of equipment. Nice looking and does the job really well. It comes supplied with a mains supply which is needed if high drain power peripherals like USB hard drives are going to be used. A valuable extension to your Desk/Laptop if USB interface are in short supply.

The D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 is a Hi-Speed Universal Serial Bus 2.0 4-port hub with backward compatibility to USB 1.0 and 1.1. It provides an out of the box industry standard that allows connection of up to four USB peripherals or devices to your USB ready PC or Mac. The D-Link DUB-H4 is targeted at PC and Mac users that are expanding the number of USB ports on their system. The D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 is designed to provide quick and easy access to the four type "A" downstream ports for connecting USB peripherals, devices or other USB hubs. A single type "B" upstream port connects the DUB-H4 to the host computer, or another USB hub enabling up to 127 devices to be connected by cascading multiple hubs. Configured directly by the operating system, the D-Link DUB-H4 2.0 operates seamlessly with both Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh Operating Systems. As a standard USB hub, the D-Link DUB-H4 buffers USB data from any attached peripheral in compliance with USB specifications to provide an invisible extension of the USB bus. Supporting both low speed (1.5 Mbps and 12Mbps) and Hi-speed (480 Mbps) devices, each port creates a bridge between the peripheral and host computer. Diagnostic LED's located on the top of the device provide power state (self-power) and port status on each port. The DUB-H4 2.0 is packaged with all necessary documentation, a 6-foot hi-speed USB 2.0 'A' to 'B' cable and an AC power supply to ensure that the user is able to easily and quickly install and use the device.
