Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Blast Off! Comment: Every now and again, you'll see something that you just KNOW is a perfect present for someone. Such was the case with the Stomp Rocket and my 5yr old nephew. So I bought one and he loves it. It's a simple concept that's well executed. Plastic pipe, plastic tripod , plastic hose and plastic air reservoir all connect together to make the launcher. Add a plastic rocket to the launch pipe, stomp and you're off. I was initially worried by the durability of all the plastic bits but so far it's stood up well to the trials of an enthusiastic 5yr old. Even the grown-ups have a go, competing at hitting distant targets or seeing who can stomp the furthest. Cheap and effective, it's a great toy for the park that kids (and more growns ups than might admit) will enjoy. Customer Rating: Summary: Infinity and beyond (oh well, not quite) Comment: My 2 have really enjoyed playing with this and have spent many an afternoon outside with it (I enjoyed less having to retrieve rockets off the roof, out of tree's, neighbour's gardens etc...). You 'stomp' on an airfilled bladder which shoots the rocket up quite some distance. The harder you stomp the higher it goes. The launch mechanism allows you to set the angle the rocket flys at. The rockets are very light (lightweight plastic cylinder with a rubbery nose) and so won't break regular windows but could hurt people or do damage to a greenhouse! After a while (several months of being left outdoors to be precise) the plastic rockets go a bit brittle and break easily. Customer Rating: Summary: What a fantastic toy this is ! Comment: I bought a Stomp Rocket to take to a week long family reunion which involved kids of widely varying ages - they absolutely loved it and played well together every single day for the whole week with it - really great ( often hilarious ) fun and it had them all running around tiring them out for bedtime - my three year old played with his cousins aged from 6 to 9 and even the adults wanted to have a go. I cannot recommend this highly enough and have just ordered two more as presents. Be sure you have an open space though as we got the rockets stuck in trees a few times. Physical fun with educational element too as the kids learnt different directions and made up different modes of stomping (eg backwards, side to middle, recommend the sitting stomp ! ) I love this. It bridges the age gap between my son (almost 4 years) and my nephew (10 years). The construction is simple and surprisingly the bit you "stomp" on will take a considerable weight (mine) stamping down on it as well as responding encouragingly to the lighter foot of a three-year old.
