Customer Rating: Summary: Useless for anagrams Comment: Like reviewers before me I appreciate some of the features on the Sharp, but as for it solving anagrams it is easily beaten by the most basic solvers. Big disappointment - expensive mistake
Customer Rating: Summary: Great product Comment: After deciding for a long time, I finally bought one of these Dictionaries.
I am very please with my purchase. One thing I am slightly disappointed in is that in the advertising picture it shows the word in syllables which unfortunately is not shown on my dictionary.
This is the first one I have ever owned so I do not know what to expect. The definitions could be more clearer, but over all I am very pleased.
Its easy to use and solidly built and user friendly.
Customer Rating: Summary: The Sharp PWE500A Comment: At home on my bookshelf there are two rather tatty books, each have been thumbed, grabbled and generally look worn; however, they are key to my families learning: playing scrabble with my children, looking for general descriptions to the flowering of a word for writing. Yes, you may have guessed that I am talking about my beloved dictionary and thesaurus. These two important reference tools are very matter-of-fact; but, not the most practical to carry around with you.
Along comes the Sharp PWE500A...
Need to find a list of words that relate to each other?
Need a quote in support of an argument?
Need to find the correct spelling?
Need to find the meaning?
Doing a crossword or playing travel scrabble?
What does the following anagram mean "Train Bill"?
When was the "British Museum" built?
All these can be discovered by using the Sharp PWE500A, one of the most useful ravel reference tools that I have every bought.
Usability
Small enough to fit into your shirt pocket.
Good size buttons
Zoom tool and back-light
I think you can take it, that I am very pleased with this item.
Would be nice if there was a word game on there though...
Customer Rating: Summary: The best, but a litttle fragile perhaps Comment: My wife and I have solved 3 or 4 crosswords every day for the past 20 years or so. We bought one of the first of these hand-held jobbies to be put on the market, and have since bought various other manufacturer's offerings, all of which are now unused and have been dumped in a loft.
Without doubt Sharp PWE series is the best we have tried. The only complaint I have is that I have just bought the 3rd one, the 1st two having lost their marbles, probably due to overwork. I hope they are still being produced when the next one fails because our
memories are getting the moth, and a working one of these dictionaries is getting to be
essential to our success rate.
Customer Rating: Summary: Superb! Comment: Probably the best electronic device I have ever bought.
I use it daily for checking the meaning of words, spelling, grammar and facts.
This device enables you to use these great and useful works with ease and comfort in the office or in your arm chair.
