Customer Rating: Summary: Probably the best webcam available. Comment: Well I used the Eyetoy for a while back in the day when I played my PS2. It was a great innovation at the time, and a fun game too! But after a while it just began to gather dust.
That is, until my friend mentioned to me that he uses his Eyetoy as a webcam and a mic, so I researched it on the net a bit and fund a site that easily helped me through the stages of turning my Eyetoy into a webcam. (Pretty simple, you just need the right drivers depending on your Eyetoy model and then just set the settings correctly!)
The picture quality is amazing, much better than my Logitech webcam that I used until I started using my Eyetoy. Even the mic is better too! You can get a new Eyetoy from eBay for about £6, that's a bargain when you compare it to PC World's prices for a webcam that's quality isn't that great.
Totally recommend this as a webcam on its own if you don't want the game!
Customer Rating: Summary: Have a talk before buy! Comment: This camera is quite fun but breaks easily if you only want it for bout 4 months fine get it but if you want it for ages don't waste your money! mine broke 5 months after i got it and then i got this really fun game that you needed a eyetoy camera to play it and i couldn't. I was so upset!
Luv from a sad girl
Hope my review helped u decied!
Customer Rating: Summary: A great invention in the right conditions Comment: The Playstation 2 Eyetoy camera, when used with special games, allows you to see or capture images of yourself on screen.
There are an increasing number of PS2 games with which the Eyetoy can be used. It is, obviously, an essential part of the 'Eyetoy...' series of games, where your body becomes the controller! It is also compatible with a few regular games, such as Singstar. Rather than buying just the camera, it might be better value to get the package which comes with an Eyetoy: Play game.
The problem is that the camera needs the right amount of light in order to display your image clearly. As long as you have a well-lit, spacious room to play in, you'll have loads of fun with the Eyetoy Camera!
Customer Rating: Summary: other good thing about the eye toy Comment: theres is other cool thing about the ps2 eye toy and that if you know the hack you can uses it as a web cam for the pc and it has anamzing picture and sound better then most web cams in the shop and they are good fun to play on the ps2 i have payed some games with it but it not my type of fun but my sister loves it so yop notch :D
Customer Rating: Summary: Buy the package with the camera and a game instead Comment: I made the mistake of buying this for £20 when you can get the camera bundled with eyetoy games for £30. If you buy the camera on its own you will end up spending another 20 quid to buy the eyetoy games almost immediately - not much point in having the camera without the games. The two stars refers to the fact that the camera on its own is not good value compared with the package.
