Comment: This console is the best!!!It beats ps3 any day who needs to spent £400 on a console!!!!!!!There are so many games available on this and everything just get it! You cannot play ps2 games on ps3 so if you dont get one of these you might never play ps2 games, they are dying out!

Summary: the first of it's generation
Comment: i had a PS2 with MGS2 as my first game and i was blown away. the Ps2 was the first of its generation so i went from playing PS1 games and some PC games to the PS2 which was incredible at the time.

all the Xbox and gamecube owners who say that the PS2 has crap graphics need to remeber that it came out a year before both of theses consoles.

it has a huge selection of games and don't believe people who say that they are all crap or average. it has lots of great games like Metal Gear Solid 2, Devil May Cry 3, Killzone, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Dynasty Warriors 4 to name some. add to that your favourite PS1 games and DVDs and you've got alot of hours you can spend on this machine.

my PS2 did break but it was after around 4 years. i'm considering buying a new one (even though i have an XBox 360 and Xbox) just to play some of my favourite games again.

Summary: it's old time to move on
Comment: i got my first ps2 in 2003 becuse someone said its better than the xbox
so i took there advise and got a ps2 and after a year i was unhappy with it,so i went got an xbox which i should have got from the start.
i got far more out of the xbox then i ever did with my ps2
which i now only use as a dvd player
i,ve only ever liked about 11 games and afew others which i wanted to see how they differ from there xbox counterparts.
but its now 2008 time to let the outdated ps2 console retire.
which the xbox did before it became to old and stale
(very smart move,mirosoft).

Summary: The world's most successful console.
Comment: Sony have sold over 120,000,000 PS2 consoles and it continues to out-sell the PS3 in all territories across the world. The reason for this is very simple. It has a huge library of games covering all genres. Many of its games offer unique gameplay experiences such as the stealth play in the Metal Gear Solid series. The fact that the console is now so cheap to buy also helps sales.

The PS2 offers something for everyone. Football fans have the Fifa and Pro Evolution Soccer series. Beat 'em up fans have the Tekken and Soul Calibur series. Horror fans have the Silent Hill collection and Resident Evil 4. Driving fans have Gran Turismo 3&4 and the Burnout series. RPG fans have Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. Party fans have Guitar Hero and Singstar. FPS fans have Killzone and the Timesplitters series. Adventure fans have Okami or Ico. Action adventure fans have the GTA series. Fantasy action fans have Devil May Cry 1-3, Onimusha 1-3 and God Of War 1&2. All of these titles can now be obtained at budget prices.

The console itself is small enough to fit in small places if space is limited and is light enough to carry around unlike the heavy slab that is the PS3. Oh yes, it will play CD's and DVD's as well. I do own a PS3 but spend loads more time on my PS2. I am currently putting myself through the hell of Titan Mode in God Of War 2, expanding my criminal empire in Scarface and watching monsters the size of mountains fall in Shadow Of The Colossus. Fact is, these are the kind of gaming experiences few consoles can offer. If you operate on a budget or are looking for a first console with hundreds of titles to choose from then the PS2 is probably essential.
