Customer Rating: Summary: One Of The Best Board Game I've Ever Played!! Comment: Risk is a world domination game where strategy and luck is a factor. You can play this game for hours, once i played this for 9hrs with 5 friends!
I recommend you buy this game, but be warned, it is very easy to lose the small pieces.
Customer Rating: Summary: Dont hesitate, order now! Comment: All those university memories came back now! All I can say that I remember playing this game till 6 o`clock in the morning. if your friends are as ambitious as you, then you have looooong hours to play:) it is great fun. I wouldnt say that it would be fun for 2 players. never tried it! the more the better. however if there is 6 of you, it takes ages till your next turn, which i believe is good in a case! you can go and make yourself tea, have some snack and back to game:)
dont forget its a strategy game and you have to THINK WELL before you attack! Enjoy it!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Why did it take me so long to get around to playing this?! Comment: I love board games. I love strategy games. Always have. So why has it taken me so long to get around to playing Risk? This game is great. The balance of skill and luck is just about right and the ebb and flow of the balance of power once things get going is really gripping. Great stuff! If there are any other Risk-virgins out there I urge you to give this game a spin!
My only criticism of this version is that the playing pieces are so, so tiny. I know they have to be, but flat counters with pictures would have been preferable to little figures that have a hard time standing up. A minor gripe that in no way detracts from the quality of the game though!
I look forward to playing again and again - I have a lot of lost time to make up, after all!
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent!! Comment: one of the best board games I have ever played and i recommend this to anyone who enjoys strategy games. Risk is excellent and games can last a while but good strategy always overcomes luck
Customer Rating: Summary: The secret king of boardgames Comment: This is the best boardgame I know, for the simple reason that there is plenty of skill involved, but the deal of the cards and the roll of the dice still make it fiendishly unpredictable. Add to that the cajoling, arm-twisting diplomacy ("you'd be CRAZY to attack me -- what about Lucy? She's about to get the whole of Europe!!!..."), and you begin to understand what it feels like to be a real tyrant.
Risk isn't a one-tactic game like monopoly (buy every property you can) nor does it drag like Trivial Pursuit. We played it twice over Christmas and the five generals involved only got more passionate, excited and devious as the game went on.
One word of caution for parents with sensitive kids: the balance of power moves suddenly in Risk, which can be as crushing as it is exhilarating, and games have been known to end in tears...
