Customer Rating: Summary: You can believe the other reviews, it is good. Comment: I was dubious when reading the reviews for this steering wheel, as they are normally written by children that don't even own the gear. The wheel and pedals are very good in use though.
I needed a cheap wheel that I could take apart to customise for my Mame machine and this works very well. It has good resistance when turning the wheel, this is created simply by two large springs inside. It is recognised straight away in Windows and was easy to setup in Mame. There is nothing wrong with the pedals either.
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Good Comment: I bought this wheel as I didn't know how much I would use it not having played many driving games before. I was surprised about how sturdy it was and the build quality was excellent especially for the price. It worked as soon as I plugged it into my Vista PC. It has generous cable lengths to run to the USB port. The only slight problems I have with it are that the pedals have a habit of sliding back on my carpet, looking at other wheel/pedal combinations they appear to have somewhere to rest your heals to prevent this. The other concerns the wheel clamp which does bend quite a lot and you have to be careful not to over tighten it.
There are 6 buttons on the front and these I think could have been a bit larger, and two paddles behind the wheel for gear changes. I configured the buttons for rFactor without any problem.
As others have said there is no force feedback on this but apart from that it is a very good buy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent on Outrun 2006 Comment: My son aged 5 and I bought this to play in Outrun 2006. Haven't mastered how to set up all the controls from Outrun 2006 yet (especially brake pedal, can get accelerator going). The steering wheel feels expensive and it responds well, can set calibration of steering wheel in Outrun.
Microsoft Vista recognised it straight away and no further configuration was necessary, It's got two ventilation slots, that make you initially think there are speakers. Son loves playing with it and I too find I am much better with it, than without it. Recommend it to anyone
Customer Rating: Summary: Good piece overall Comment: It was easy to setup and most games i got have picked it up. Setting it up in games was pretty easy. 1 thing i haddent checked was if it had feedback, which it doesnt ( unfortunately ), for it would have been a very good peripharel.
It is still a good piece and worth buying.
Customer Rating: Summary: A quality wheel Comment: Having just purchased TestDrive unlimited I was looking for a steering wheel instead of having to use the very annoying keys. I chose this one because it was one of the cheapest and I wasn't sure how much I'd be playing the game. Since I got the wheel two days ago, I've been playing non stop! It's brilliant! MUCH better than the keys (I can actually drive at speed and stay on the road). I'm amazed at the price because it looks and feels expensive. I thought it would be flimsy, but I'm more worried about the sturdiness of my desk. Best of all, I was able to plug it into the USB (no problems with Vista), and play straight away.
