Customer Rating: Summary: Brilliant little set of Speakers Comment: Hi All
Just bought this set of Logitech X 230's through Amazon, arrived in three days . Unpacked and what a surprise I got. For the money they were great looking ,and only took 5 mins to set up.
Turned computer on and poped in a cd what a luvly quality sound for under £30.00,you would think it was coming from a good quality music centre if you didn't no better. Ive never written a review before ,but Honestly ,a great bit of kit for very little money . Im very happy with purchase would thoroughly recommend the Logitech X-230 Multimedia Speaker System ********** 10/10
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent speakers at 26 quid, but..... Comment: ....they are becoming rare, it seems.
This X-230 is superior to the X-240. More power (check the specs) more depth, altogether a better sound, so do not be tempted by the higher model number. OK, there is a little doohickey for those who have iPods on the 240, but the sound is less satisfying.
Having said that, the first time we tried the X-230 it seemed powerful but unbalanced, with excess bass, and a tizzy top end. It was well worth moving the
speakers around for a bit and playing with the sub-woofer level. We ended up with the sub on the floor and the two speakers a bit forther away than I can reach easily. Closer was a bit too shrill for us, but your mileage may vary.
Once set up (as other reviewers report) the X-230 is an excellent speaker set that really delivers. Very good value indeed.
Customer Rating: Summary: Absolutely Brilliant! Comment: Having had speakers for my PC on previous occasions and been disappointed with their "tininess", I received these speakers from Logitech with 24 hours of placing my order, and then linked them up to my PC...then WOW!!...the sheer quality of the sound is absolutely brilliant. With Planet Rock and Classic FM providing equally challenging ranges of base and treble, the addition of these speakers has given my music pleasure a fresh lease of life.
Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome sound for price Comment: These speakers look and sound great.
For the price of £25 they truly are a bargain, but without the bargain sound.
The bass is hard and goes right through the whole house if you have the sub on full whack! The mid tones and treble are crisp and clear, and I could hear no distortion even on full volume.
Add to this the fact that I'm using a very old computer (6yrs!!!) with its built in sound card, I would have to say you won't get a better sounding set of speakers for even double the price.
The speakers look the part too, and are very well made - and don't worry about the sub, as this can easily be hidden somewhere on the floor.
I can't recommend these highly enough - BUY THEM!!!
Customer Rating: Summary: SUPERB value. Comment: Great value speakers.
Couple of things to note not yet mentioned by other reviews.
The headphone socket is just a straight pass through, so the volume knob has no effect - you must control the volume via your computer. The speaker power switch on the front can be set to off.
Also, the subwoofer MUST be used. The speakers plug into the subwoofer, which plugs into the main power supply.

The X-230 2.1 32W have been designed for providing you with a crystal clear sound for video applications such as games, music and lot more...The subwoofer adjusts automatically to bring distortion to the bass sounds. Moreover, the two X-230 2.1 32W satellite speakers use FDD2 (Frequency Directed Dual Driver) technology to eliminate any sound disturbances. The result is a clear and homogeneous sound for a smooth and controlled sound distribution. Last but not least, those satellite speakers can be easily wall mounted .
