Customer Rating: Summary: Great fun Comment: My 7 year son had this for Christmas. I really hoped that it would be everything that he hoped it would be. We were not disappointed, it has really captured his attention and he especially loves the alarm!! Dare I say it, but I think it is a fabulous discovery toy for boys and even Granddads are suitably impressed and captivated. Worth every penny, best purchase this Christmas.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great value Comment: Bought this for my 6 year old grandson. He loved it and spent a lot of time playing with it. Easy to use, great value for money, educational and most importantly a lot of fun. Says for 8 years and over, but he didn't have a problem completing any of the items. Highly recommend this one.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fun and interesting Comment: I have started to use this with my 10 year old grandson. It is well made, has clear instructions and a large number of components. The fan- or flying disc if the polarity is reversed- produced much amusement. We also managed to blow 2 fuses- but that's how you learn. I rang John Adams who have promptly sent 17 yes 17 spare fuses for free!
A good kit and top class service. Nice to find.
Customer Rating: Summary: The best toy I puchased this christmas! Comment: I had no idea what this toy was and brought it purely on the back of amazon reviews..... It was worth every penny! My 10 year old son (& 12 yrs daughter!) have had a whale of a time making flying saucers, lie dectors, light shows, I could go on! The instruction manual is very easy to read making every circuit straight forward and fun to build.
Customer Rating: Summary: A rare worthwhile quality educational toy Comment: My children, 10 and 8, continue to enjoy this well built, safe, educational and entertaining toy for several years. There are lots of increasingly difficult circuits to make and the instruction manual is clear and comprehensive, from the simplest and the most complex. You end up learning a lot of electronic circuitry and this is more than ample to stir any curiosity. It is one of the very few "toys" that lasts (that said a small defect (crack) in the battery case was promptly replaced by the maker, painlessly). Fully worth the higher price and I wish the manufacturer did more of this class.

Hot Wires is the ultimate in snap together electronics! You can make anything from a flying disk to a burglar alarm, from a voice recorder to an FM radio with automatic station selection or even a lie-detector, and that's just for starters! Simply follow the full colour step-by-step instructions to become your very own resident electronic wizard! Great fun for boys in general or children with an interest in science.
