Customer Rating: Summary: Good, but lit up keys not effective unless in near total darkness Comment: Forked out a bit more cash than I otherwise would have for a keyboard, as I wanted to be able to see the keys in poor lighting.
Works well when in almost complete darkness, but light from the monitor means its difficult to see the keys lit up. Would have been better if it was the space around the letters on each key that lit up and not the letters themselves.
Nevertheless, good solid keyboard, but if your looking for a keyboard that lets you see it with the lights off, I'd recommend looking elsewhere!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great keyboard Comment: Don't have a single game on my PC but the keyboard is great, soft keys, the grey isn't reflective and the illuminated keys easy in low light situations
Customer Rating: Summary: Saitek Eclipse Comment: I have had my keyboard for 2 years now ( I think ) and it still works perfectly, both under xp and now under vista. I have never expirienced any problems whatsoever. This is without a doubt my best buy ever. I can only recommend this to others. If you want a good reliable keyboard this is the one, and to all of those who say that the keyboard wears out, LIES, all my keys are still 100% as they were 2 years ago, and I have used it for hardcore gaming from day 1.
Tobias.
Customer Rating: Summary: Eclipsed all other keyboard's Comment: I didn't buy the Eclipse keyboard through Amazon but after mine arrived and having used it for a few weeks now I felt compelled to write a review. This quite simply is the best keyboard I have ever used. Being a big guy with big fingers i was happy to to see the keys are well spaced apart and this thing is really sturdy! The keys are quiet when you type and the quality of this product is so evident at first sight! When I decided to buy a new keybord I wanted something without all the multimedia keys which I think make keyboards clustered and confusing, instead i wanted something basic; i mean just the regular keys you would expect on a QWERTY keyboard. The thing that made me buy was the lights! I did my homework and looked at Saitek's other offering the "eclipse II" however i read review after review on the eclipse II with customers being dissapointed with how bright the keyboard shone. None of the reviews for the eclipse mentioned a problem with the illumination and I could not find a bad review of this keyboard at all. I bought the eclipse rather than its newer brother and I am so impressed - its well built, cheap for the price, the illumination of the eclipse is perfect as is the product as a whole. if you are looking for a new keyboard look no further - this really is an excellent product! buy the eclipse - not eclipse II....!
Customer Rating: Summary: Key Wear Comment: A good keyboard at first which after 6 months of online gaming use has several keys worn down so that the letters are unreadable. Think i'll go back to a basic microsoft white style after paying £39.99 and had less than a years use from this junk. Stick with old style if your a serious gamer, my older white standard one actually got a hole worn around my arrow keys over a duration of 8 years and the letters are still there to see fully. Its real shame cause the saitek looks awesome but is no way practical in my opinion.
