Summary: Twice Disappointed
Comment: The first 6250 arrived with one phone failing to charge properly and was returned for a replacement. The replacement had an intermittent fault where there would be short cut offs during conversation then the connection would return - very annoying.

Amazon returns service was excellent, pity about the product.

Summary: Best DECT phone that I have found
Comment: Like most people I have tried a variety of cordless phones over the years and in virtually all respects this is the best, regardless of price. Highly recommended

Pros
Very easy and intuitive to use.
Clear display.
Good clarity and reception.
Well shaped for the hand and the ear so very comfortable to use.
Pretty good for hands free use.
The SIM copy function is a great idea and works pretty well (see cons).

Cones
The construction is ok but plastic resonates when tapped and the sound is fed back into the ear when using the phone; more of a niggle than a fault.
The SIM copy function works fine on the main phone but does not complete the copy on additional phones.

I have not explored the answer phone function as like a lot of people I use BT 1571. I have given this phone 5 Stars because relative to all others I have used it is fantastic. However in reality it would only get 4.5 stars due to the average construction and problems with the SIM copy.

Summary: Faulty Handsets ...
Comment: Read a few reviews and decided to go for this phone as it had a lot of features of interest (SIM reader, audible message alert, playback buttons, hands free, combined with good reviews). However, the handsets of the first boxed set would not charge, after 16+ hours of charging both handsets icons flashed warning of low batteries, and eventually died. A replacement was quick to arrive and in this case one handset would not hold the charge.

Amazon now will not replace this item and have offered a refund ... but still on sale here ?!

Despite this it seemed easy to use and quick to set up. Call clarity very good - so much better than my old BT phone (hence 2 stars), but have not had the chance to test it as it will have to be returned for a refund. very disappointing

Summary: Excellent phone
Comment: Following weeks of reading reviews I went ahead and brought this phone and I have to say it was well worth the wait! i had no problems setting the phones up, unlike the BT Synergy 4500 which i brought and returned due to endless problems.

Both handsets and the answering machine are working well and more importantly, the line is very clear. I have had the phones for five days now and the main phone's battery is still 3/4 full, despite making numerous relatively long phone calls.

I am very impressed with the phone and I recommend this to anyone who is currently debating which phone to buy.

Summary: Worth the money
Comment: Excellent cordless phones. Had this set for a few months now and we're happy.

Good things:
Excellent sound, very clear to hear and be heard.
Range great - handles brick walls fine.
Easy to get started and use.
Nice shape and comfortable in my hand - not a heavy handset.
Transfer numbers from your SIM card to the handset very nifty. Transfer one number or whole phone book. Transfer from one SIM card then another if you like. Just copying data over.
Change ringtone for handsets and base unit - each can be different - all from the handset.
Simple indications of missed calls and new messages.
Call from handset to handset.
Choose to mute ring on handset(s) and/or base unit. Each can be set individually - as can volume.
Second handset has a compact charger/stand and handsets can be interchanged between base unit and second charger. You can also rename each handset from their default Handset 1 and Handset 2 - although it will always show the number of the handset (eg. 1 or 2)
Clear readable display with decent sized text - bigger text than my mobile phone for instance.

Not so good things:
Haven't got on so well with the inbuilt speaker phone. EG.with phone resting on my lap person other end said I kept going loud then quiet.
SIM card transfer isn't intelligent - so won't synchronise or look for duplicate numbers. Pull out tray for SIM card felt a bit flimsy - not too bad as I expect average user doesn't use it much after intially setting up phonebooks.
Phone book is done by handset - each holds their own phonebook. Could be an advantage if you want them for different purposes on the same line - but a bit annoying for me as I need to copy SIM and manually keep the directories on each handset in synch.
You can choose between pre-set ring tones but not all the handset tones are available for the base unit. My preferred ring tone is set on handsets but base unit has to have a different ring - which is a bit weird when they all ring together (you could switch base unit ringer off if you wanted).
When you switch off power to base unit (to move a socket for instance) it resets the clock and date. It seems to remember everything else (call logs, last dialled, phone book) at least for a short switch off with handset charged up.

On the whole the niggles do not effect my rating of excellent - these are only fairly minor things. The only thing I am disappointed about is the handsfree/loud speaker built into the handset - but it is possible to buy a handsfree kit to plug into the handset so that might solve my issue.

Overally really pleased and feel they are well worth the money.
