Customer Rating: Summary: Great controller Comment: I love the design of the 360 controller, its chunky but not too big, and its not at all heavy. Its comfortable to hold for long periods too.
Some reviews have comnplained about the vibration not working on that many games, but that is entirley dependant on the game not the controller, so this cant be blamed on the controller.
Another review I have read complains the analogue triggers don't work on GTA. Well if this review refers to San Andreas, since GTA4 is not on PC yet, that game does not have analogue accelerator.brake controls, it is digital, again not a fault of the controller.
Perhaps my main gripe with the pad is the oddly positioned left analogue stick. For me I would prefer the analogues to be adjacent to one another as I do get a little thumb ache in my left thumb.
Apart from that this is a great controller and highly recommended
Customer Rating: Summary: Correct Drivers Comment: In order to get the most out of this you need the right drivers - if you google "XBCD 360" you get the correct drivers for this model (if you get just the standard xbcd drivers you can have a lot of problems).
The drivers eliminate the problems other people had (i.e. all buttons work independantly, both analogue sticks work separately, triggers can be set to analogue).
Glad I spent the extra cash to get something of decent quality, would recommend to anyone looking for a decent controller.
Customer Rating: Summary: Just superb... Comment: I only use this gamepad for Fifa 08 on PC, but it is utterly brilliant for playing with. I bought a cheap gamepad before and Fifa did not let half of the shoulder buttons work, or the right analog stick, but it is fine with this gamepad. I might have to check out this other drivers to get vibration function however...
I dont intend to use this for FPS games such as Far Cry or CS Source as I believe mouse and keyboard is better
However I believe this is a great purchase as the quality of the item is robust and will certainly have a long life, and if I buy an Xbox 360 in the future [likely], then I have a gamepad to use...
If you're looking for a quality gamepad, then this is the one for you
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent controller Comment: Very reliable and user-friendly. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a pc controller.
Customer Rating: Summary: XBOX 360 Controller Review for MS Windows Comment: Like other reviewers, I was looking for a controller/gamepad for the PC. Having fumbled around with 3rd party products I found them to be useless. In the past I used an adaptor that would allow PS2 controllers to be used worked OK but the lack customisation was poor.
Having installed the provided drivers the controller was identified by WinXP immediately, however by doing some research I installed the XBCD drivers (Google this term or look on wikipedia) and I was able to initiate the rumble feature (not supported by the Microsoft drivers in older games).
I use this controller for Dirt, Sega, Nintendo and Winaue emulation - the pad works like a charm! However you do have to spend a few minutes setting up the controller.
If your looking for a gamepad/controller this worth getting, will add a more interesting element to your PC game play. However I do prefer to stick to Keyboard and Mouse combo for FPS!!
