Customer Rating: Summary: Not too bad at all Comment: Like the other reviews, this is a good little DVD camcorder.
It's a great size, looks the part but you can see where Canon have cut costs with the cheap lens cap and charging jack. Picture is quite noisy in darker shoots (grainey).
I too was dissappointed by the lack of PC editing (the camera comes with no software) but have since discovered you can probably use Premiere Elements 5 as it recognises the file format the Canon uses. Perhaps someone can verify for me?
In summary 4 stars, I would have given 5 but for the small annoyances.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great for only watching back and back... Comment: To me, I was extremley excited when I bought this camcorder from Comet, at the price it seemed like a fantastic buy, but then when I tried to play what I had recorded on my DVD player, it roughly played and jolted at times. When I watched it on the camcorder itself, it was fine. The quality and sound that it records at is fantastic.
The biggest dissapointment however, is the fact that it's is almost impossible to edit videos on the computer. As this is an AV camcorder, the computer cannot read it at all. I also can't find any software that will let me convert it.
I would only advise buying this if you did not want to edit what you record otherwise it's a huge dissapointment.
Customer Rating: Summary: A great camcorder. Comment: I bought this camcorder because of the excellent reviews it has received and also because of its specification.
All I can say is that it is so good I was amazed it costs so little for such a fabulous camcorder. I can't think of one function that the average user could want that it doesn't have, and after taking it on holiday and playing the DVD recordings straight from the camera in my DVD player the picture quality was absolutely brilliant.
If you want a great camcorder but don't want to pay a fortune for it you won't go wrong if you buy this one.
