Customer Rating: Summary: superb for the money Comment: I have had this phone a few months now and I am completely satisfied with what the phone can offer. It is so simple to use. The caller display is helpful and the loud speaker is useful for my children. Yes you can buy other options for lots more money but I can't see why pay extra.
Customer Rating: Summary: Two Way Radio?????????? Comment: Ok bought this phone and soon found out you couldn't call from handset to main phone. To use it as a "two way radio" as advertised you have to purchase another handset. Here lies the problem, i cannot find an extra handset for this unit anywhere (yes! even on the net.) I'm sure there are others that are compatible but i'm not sure.
Customer Rating: Summary: Backlight/sound Comment: Nice looking phone,But NO backlight to screen on either phones & unless you are in the same room as the phone all the time forget it,even on volume 4 the level of sound is perthetic, pity because it has 16 tunes.
Customer Rating: Summary: Dissappointed Comment: I bought this item as I have set up an office in my own home and felt this phone offered the best functionality. It has all the features you would expect of an office phone and more - speaker phone, caller display, hold function, speed dials and answer phone to name a few. It also comes with an additional handset so you can carry your business with you throughout your house! Anyway, I guess I should have been a tad wary when I first got the machine out of the box to find stickers and all the manuals detailing the Binatone helpline number in case of problems. This could be a good thing, however, it is unusual for the helpline to be promoted so openly and made me wonder if this is due to a vast number of problems. Sadly my assumption was correct. This phone has never worked properly since I got it. The base unit is great and has all the expected features which seem to work fine so far. The main problem is the handset. Firstly, the answerphone being situated on the handset is a pain. I would have preferred it to be on the main base unit.
You cannot make calls between the handset and base unit.
Everytime I go to operate the Ooutgoing message function it cuts the handset off completely.
Everytime I go to play a message - it cuts the handset off completely.
Needless to say it doesnot do what I expected.
So, I called the help line. After thirty minutes of waiting in a queue, I get through to someone who I had to coax words out of. They were clearly disinterested, told me to try re-setting it, and recharging which I had already tried prior to calling them. He then advised me to take it back where I got it from. Very UNHELPFUL!
Anyway, I'm just about to do just that, and needless to say, I won't be getting another Binatone.
