Customer Rating: Summary: Semi-Pro Comment: As a Semi-Professional gamer this headset is a must. Its worth its cost just for use at XL. Ive only used this with Halo 3 and so far i have no complaints.
The cable is more than long enough to allow me to throw my controller across the room as i find my self AR'd from across the map. The duel chat and game sound volume controls allow me to drown out those annoying people you usually find at the end of a game after your +14 to their -13. The sound quality is very high, with footsetps, lifts and even distant gunfire being crystal clear.
The mic itself is nicely posistion'd on highly flexable metal stem and will bend in alomost any direction. The headset is easily adjustable, seemingly being able to fit even the largest headed gamer.
However if you are the causal gamer i would suggest NOT buying this headset, even with the marketing slogan being all about not annoying the family/neighbours with the sound of trash talk. Its not actually the game volume that is the problem but your own voice and as far as i can tell this headset cant do much about that, i still shout as much as before. If not more. The headset seems just a little too expensive for someone not spending hours working callouts on a empty map or working everyset up just incase they flank through blue room. For anyone who takes the gaming seriously though this is the headset for you. Crystal clear sound, with the abilty to hear footsteps nearby gives the serious gamer that edge they are always looking for.
I can guarantee anyone on the pro circuit is useing this headset or one very similar. But for the average gamer, the benefits dont seem too high and although it is a quality product it just doesnt seem too usefull as a late night gaming tool when there are cheaper options out there in the way of headsets. So if your looking to take your game to the next level this is for you. But if your playing for the fun of it and not hardcore then perhaps maybe you should just turn the volume down and try and keep your voice low.
