Customer Rating: Summary: Typical Sony.... Comment: It's fair to say Sony have to be the luckiest manufacturer in the history of video gaming.
In 1994, they release the Playsation 9002 Series (the Shoe Box as we used to call it), to which even then after a slow start, became the market leader because of a couple of 'half-descent' games, leading the Playstation to become a "branded" console for cool in the playground- NOT game play, which was blocky, jagged, and slow. Hence, the Nintendo 64 with more exclusive games, better titles, twice the graphic power, and no loading times, was always behind the sales. Afterall, this was "uncool" because of it's non-threatening image...
Same story in 2001. Another slow start with sceptical people at Christmas, but yet again, Sony amazingly triumph in sales, even though the Dreamcast had more exclusive, better titles, better use of graphics, and a built in modem. Sound familiar?
It would seem that for the past 7 years, the PS2 has been living off Pro Evolution Soccer, Gran Turismo, and Grand Theft Auto. Oh yeah, and a large expansion port and the back of the console which Sony kept promising would open "a whole new world of gaming". Hmmm.
So, after trying to keep the console alive (despite it being inferior even to the Gamecube and Xbox in terms of power) by means of colouring its plastic case Silver and 'Aqua', they release this silly, flimsy Slim-line version. Ahh... and now it's pink. I'm sure the average young girl would love this. So what games will you buy for them?...
Customer Rating: Summary: Think Pink. Comment: I don't think the colour looks anything like what it does in the photo. Its a lot brighter. More like a bright barbie pink. =/ At first, I hated the colour. But then I adjusted to it and rather liked it (alot). Its different, and stands out. Young girls will love the colour. (Especially if they are into girly things), but you don't have to be a girly girl to like it- it just takes time. If you are looking for a colour thats a bit more modern maybe you should go for the silver, or one that won't attract attention - the black. Though, I think the pink PS2 is an acquired taste =/ Oh..and the PS2 is fun =]
Customer Rating: Summary: OUT WITH THE OLD IN AND WITH THE PINK Comment: Yeah its almost time to say good bye ps2 and HELLLLLO UGLY looking ps3 (well thats what think any way)but i guess sony just needs to milk this slim version alittle bit more(DAMN ITS EXPENSIVE)ANYWOO,seeing as i have the old CHUNKY ps2 to i kinda like this one something different and seeing as EVERY thing is being relesed again in this colour i though i may as well get this one, warning though avoid the price tag and just trade in yur old one,you should get a good price too..(ONLY FOR TEH HARDCORE THOUGH)....by the way i am a bloke too
Customer Rating: Summary: How can you review something thats not even released yet!? Comment: I'm sorry, but I just want to bring your attention to the fact that review before mine going on about how PINK it is, is based on the reviewer LOOKING AT A PICTURE!!! How can you review something that isnt even out yet? Give the thing a chance love.
However, I personally think that a PS2 is a PS2 whatever the colour. I would rather have a black one and spend the extra on a new game, but will my 13 year old daughter do that? I think not! It's pink and thats all she cares about! She would probably pay double for the stupid thing!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great... Comment: PlayStation 2 is a wonderful games system. Better than GameCube and XBOX.
Now it will be available in Pink, wonderful.
