Customer Rating: Summary: Move on to another player Comment: We used the player for about 6 months before it developed the same defect as another buyer reports below: a continuous fast-forward loop.
I would strongly advise buyers to look elsewhere for a dvd player.
Customer Rating: Summary: It stopped working the third time I used it!!!! Comment: I really regret buying this DVD player and I wish I had read reviews on it before buying it. I can't change it either as I misplaced the receipt. It was working fine and playing region 1 & 2 dvds and then it just stopped working . Everytime I try to play any DVD now it just says "loading" for a while and then "bad disk."
Customer Rating: Summary: Dud Comment: I recently ordered this item and it did not work. I tried every region of DVD I own and it did not work. I contacted the company to find out if there was anything I could do and they did not respond at first. After a second enquiry, they responded and advised me to try a lens cleaner, which I did. It still did not work. I returned it to amazon and bought the Philips multi-region player for £20 more and it worked right out of the box and after entering a simple code, it played all my DVDs. I'm not saying that this isn't a good machine, but I got a dud and so would advise: Buyer Beware!
Customer Rating: Summary: Utterly useless piece of equipment Comment: First of all the order was not delivered by the promised date. When I enquired, I was told not to worry and a replacement order was sent. When I used the replacement dvd player for the first time, there were a few problems - the player did not read some of the files that were burnt on the dvd. next, the player started to play the readable files in an endless fast forward loop! on complaining, I was told to send it back as defective and another replacement has been sent. I will try it out for the last time tonight - if it works well and good, otherwise I will never go for this player again.
Customer Rating: Summary: Cheap, nasty and did not work! Comment: I bought this in good faith after reading the other reviews but totally stick by the 'you get what you pay for' ethos. Except, I paid for something that didn't work! It wouldn't spin the discs up and just showed the message 'loading' then 'bad disc'. I'll be steering clear of Alba in future!
