Customer Rating: Summary: Great device... but iPod touch does not fit :-( Comment: The sound quality on this baby is awesome! It's beautifully ergonomic, stylish and of very high quality.. the only thing I can fault it on is it's lack of support for the iPod touch. The Go & Play was created with the older generation of iPod's specifications - and even though it has been designed to fit "all iPods with docking capability" - my iPod touch was just too long to fit in the docking station on the top of the unit!
the spring on the tilting docking station is rather week as well - it doesn't stay in the upright position, but i'm not sure if this is the way it's supposed to work or not..
The iTouch is aprox 3-5 mm too long for the length of the dock at the top, and is unable to fit completely flat on the top of the unit.
fortunately, i have an older Nano, which shall find a very comfortable new home in this lovely device.
what i find really upsetting is that the Harman Kardon support staff, both technical and sales, did not inform me of this when i called and when i sent a support email asking about the compatibility with the iTouch...
i like the sound quality and functionality way too much to send it back, and with a little improvisation, the Touch works well when propped up with one of the rubber attachments thats included for the other size iPods.
the Touch wont be making a journey on this thing though, thats for sure.
oh, and there are no rechargeable batteries included, in case you were wondering - but it takes 8 D size batteries which are supposed to then be able to power the unit for approx 24 hrs - have not checked this yet.
all in all a very good device if you're looking for excellent high quality sound output unit... & if you have an older iPod :-)
Customer Rating: Summary: harman kardon go+play Comment: The sound from this is excellent we bought this to have in our holiday flat and it fills the room brilliantly with undistorted sound.HOWEVER please be aware the function which allows you to watch your videos through the TV via the s-video lead does not work with the latest generation of Ipods ( big shock ) No sympathy from H&K who just blame apple and an inability to keep up with the speed of their technology I wish I had bought another Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin as I have no problems with their product but was a bit steep for occasional use in a holiday flat If you can push the budget BOWERS & WILKINS every time
Customer Rating: Summary: fantastic Portable Comment: I have been looking for portable speakers for my Ipod for quite a while when i stumbled accross this at a friends house, the sound quality made was outstanding and immediately i had to get one, i already had a gear 4 speaker dock but immediately returned those in order to get these, fantastic buy for the money and this has given my Ipod a new lease of life! veryyyy pleaaaseeed
Customer Rating: Summary: Not the best, but best for the money Comment: The only better sound from an iPod speaker set I have come across is the B&W Zeppelin, although it is £150 more expensive. Other than that, the Go & Play is far and away the best iPod set-up I have found on the market. The sound can be a little bassy sometimes but is otherwise excellent - far superior to the Bose system, and other docks I tested. All the comments people make about lack of controls for the unit are valid, but it doesn't change the fact that this is great. Highly recommended!
Customer Rating: Summary: Harmon Kardon Go & Play Comment: Having read the reviews on this item I decided to go for it. I initially thought of by the Bose system however mighty glad I didn't. The sound is crystal clear even when turned up loud, haven't dared trying it at full volume yet. A bit bulkier than I imagined it would be but the quality of manufacture is first class. Would certainly recommend it if you like your music loud and clear or low and distinct.

An understated, functional and industrial design. Unsurpassed performance and ease of use. From its flat, protective iPod cradle and smart RF remote to its arching stainless-steel handle, this is the portable loudspeaker dock that only Harman Kardon could build. Harman Kardon Go + Play delivers tight, thunderous bass from high-excursion low-frequency drivers. Just as important, the highs are distinct and crystal clear. Go + Play is AC- or battery-operated, so it will go anywhere your iPod or other music player goes - and make your favourite music sound better when it arrives. And as a multimedia entertainment center, it even sends photos and videos from your iPod to a TV monitor. However and wherever you use it, it's the sound that sets Go + Play apart.
