Customer Rating: Summary: speed storm Comment: hi there , i bought a speed storm, it arrived today and the kids were excited , it looks the business but thats it. i read that it was fast and i thought it was far from it maybe theres something wrong , any help would be great , we have a little sling shot rc boat which cost 30 pounds and its 4 times as fast so something cant be right
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice boat - however Comment: I've just bought this boat and it is big, the kids were well impressed taking it down to the pond. However this boat, like most boats under £100.00 do suffer in the radio control department. If there is no one else about then they are fine, but if there are Pro. R.C. sailors around -even if they are on different Mhz, the chances are your boat may just stop 10 feet away. This happened to me and some kind boaters sheparded my boat back. The problem seems that the R.C. is not powerful enough. There were 2 grandparents there with another boat and I mentioned this to them and they said they wondered why their boat worked at home but not here.
There seems to be plenty of room room to fit a good 2 channel R.C. in this boat and then sort out the steering ( the boat has 2 propellors and turns by switching one off ) for about £35.00 which I think is worth it to avoid the aggro.- I've been told that some people have uprated the engines. So I'm not the only one who thinks it's worthwhile.

Speed Storm Electric Radio Controlled Hydro Boat The Speed Storm is the best value radio controlled boat on the market. Similar models retail for well over £100. Not to be confused with the similar smaller scale model this is the full scale one that is almost a meter long. This is a high performance model featuring twin 380 electric motors and rechargeable 7.2V battery pack which gives excellent speed and agility. The Speed Storm is excellent quality and finished in a great glossy paint job which looks awesome skimming across the water comes. The model is fully built with everything you need to get started, even some aa batteries for the controller.
