Customer Rating: Summary: NOT ENOUGH HELP OR SUPPORT Comment: I bought this phone because I did not want to take a Laptop with me everywhere, I like the look & the many features. But I am unable to find any UK provider that supports it, This means I have NO internet or email & these are the main 2 things I needed. Even getting the phone unlocked has not helped in any way. I would not have wasted my money if I knew about the Provider problem.
Customer Rating: Summary: palm treo 680 Comment: This is probably the most useful thing I have ever bought. Especially great for reading documents and I have a Russian-English dictionary on mine which is very handy. Also good as a phone, perhaps a little on the heavy side. Operating system seems to work well, easy to use. Generally very pleased with my purchase.
I would have rated it higher but for the fact that the camera is rubbish and there is no wi-fi. If you want these things look elsewhere. Also Palm customer service is abysmal. Only buy Bluetooth headphones, the wired version can jam an internal switch in the phone so the phone won't work. I eventually managed to free the switch. After more than 25 emails to Palm I am no closer to getting a refund as I don't want to use them again. You only have 14 days to return products bought from Palm. Palm extras are also overpriced.
Customer Rating: Summary: Brilliant and simple Comment: Great little phone and the Palm OS is soooooo... much better than the Windows Mobile. Typing is easier than graffiti and the keypad is OK even for my clumsy fingers.
Customer Rating: Summary: I love my Treo 680 Comment: Am very happy with my new Treo 680, it is everything that I expected and much more.It arrived extremely quickly and I have spent most of that time since exploring all that it has to offer. I am definitely a convert to Palm OS after using Nokia phones for so long. The battery charge issue is one that I have noticed, especially when transferring data or listening to music. However, this does not detract from the general fabulousness of this phone. Simply charge it up again.
It's Mac compatible and perfect for me as a Mac user.I love it. Palm smartphones really are the way forward!
Customer Rating: Summary: The best smartphone money can buy! Comment: I must begin by coming clean: I have been a fan of Palm OS since I began using Palms in 1998. I use my device everyday, many times, as I rely it to organise my busy diary schedule. Since then I have had experience of both main platforms (Palm & MS). In terms of speed/ functionality/ stabililty and ease of use Palm wins hands down. This handset is no exception. As a phone it is great, but there are several caveats overall.
Like many devices which try to do too many things it does some exceptionally well, some well, but some only average. Its camera is OK but is not as good as many camera phones, but even they cannot hold a candle to a real camera! The phone and internet browser are lacking 3G. There is no WiFi.
Where is shines is that it sports Palm OS for its PDA functions, and there are many 1000's of apps around to enhance it which are not available to any other platform. Palm OS (along with Datebook 6) is easily the best PDA platform around for functionality and ease of use.
They cannot be beaten. Long live Palm
