Summary: If you have a wii and an HDTV you need this
Comment: I recently purchased an HD TV using this cable the picture quality increase has to be seen to be appreciated, everything is so much sharper compared to using a scart lead, my TV is only 20" but I noticed I don't have to sit as close to the TV now due to the increased sharpness, a top quality product.

Summary: Trying to find one?
Comment: This is a fantastic quality cable, as good as if not better than the official component cable. Build quality is superb. I gave up waiting for amazon uk and ordered one from amazon germany and received it within a week and it cost less too!

Summary: a quality looking cable from fanatec
Comment: I have just got this cable from Amazon for my LCD Samsung TV, which has component video cable connections. Initially impressions are the picture on Wii Sports Tennis is really sharp and colourful with the component video cable connected, compared to a poor blurred picture I have recently seen from a well known retail outlet of a Wii demo involving another game (as I have not used the composite cable that came with the Wii console, I cannot compare the composite to the component cable in picture quality). Some critics say a weakness of the Wii console is its graphics power, my initial impressions suggest that the cartoon style graphics Nintendo often use, rather than the graphics power itself, are the real issue and not every ones cup of tea (remember how much software developers squeezed graphics performance out of the successful PS1 console to its limits, whatever its limitations and the same will happen with the successful Wii console). The Wii console graphics to me are just bright and colourful, particularly for a first generation game such as Wii Sports, though I am sure this is much boosted by my Samsung LCD TV and this quality component video cable from Fanatec.

Summary: Well Worth Upgrading
Comment: From reading previous reviews, I decided on this Component Cable for my Wii. I was a bit worried it wouldn't be as good as the Official Wii Component Cable but went with the gamble due to teh reviews being so good.

I must say from the offset I did notice a difference when trying it out with Wii Sports. Unfortunately where the cable makes the colours deeper and the quality of the display crisper, it shows up the lack of graphical power of wii sports where the players are a bit rougher round the edges. However some of the scenery is greatly improved I noticed. Playing a game like zelda and the flaws seen in the characters of wii sports are a distant memory. The clarity is greatly improved.

In my opinion it is well worth the money to get the best visuals out of your machine. However if you own more than one console there could be a problem whereby both consoles have component cables but your TV only has one set of input component cables slots on it. In this case I would sugest you ditch the xBox 360 if you have one, sell it and upgrade to a PS3. Buy A HDMI cable for that and buy the component cable for the Wii. This way you get the best visuals possible from both consoles plus you have the ultimate in gaming machines around plus a blu-ray dvd player.

Enjoy!!

Summary: Great cable to get
Comment: I got this cable a week or so ago, and i hadn't had a chance to test it out until today when my new 32" sony bravia arrived. I tested it out and the picture quality compared to the cables packaged with the wii is greatly improved through this cable.

There is not much else i can say about it, if you want the wii to look great on a big screen, then this is the cable for you!

Editorial Reviews:

Improve your Nintendo Wii's video output with this premium component video cable. Requires a compatible television.
