Customer Rating: Summary: excellent budget price camcorder Comment: I have just bought this camera and it is very easy to use. The Which guide rated it as a best buy.
I have just returned from a jungle safari adventure in Madagascar which required low light photography and the camera operations to be quick and simple. The camera did not disappoint. I have some footage that is an absolute delight to me and frankly I am stunned as to how good the quality is given the poor light that I was working in. For example,I took close up footage of a red kingfisher asleep on a branch, at night. The subject was lit up by a pocket torch and the detail is wonderful.
The 35X optical zoom allows you to get very close to your subject. You will need a very steady hand however, because on maximum optical zoom, it amplifies the camera shake.
The camera takes mini R and RW discs(rewritable). Each disc will give you approximately 20 minutes of recording time. The RW discs enable you to record your pictures over and over again. The handbook is also very straight forward and gets you up and running straight away.
Also a 2gb memory card gave me capacity to take in excess of 4,500 digital photographs. Please note however, that it is primararily a camcorder and the still photo facilty is an addition feature. You simply switch to camera mode by a flick of a tiny switch with the thumb.
The whole device is designed to nestle in the palm of your hand and you operate the switches with your thumb and forefinger. Could not be simpler.
If you are looking for a camera that is uncomplicated and very simple to use, then this one is for you.
Customer Rating: Summary: fast delivery??? Comment: i ordered a camcorder for my husbands birthday on the 23, still waiting, have been given two different delivery dates and now its not coming till 3-5 june. fast track delivery, whats that then! It should be 2-4 days. not 2 weeks
Customer Rating: Summary: GOOD BUY Comment: I wasn't too sure what to expect when I bought this as this was my 1st camcorder. However, I am delighted with the purchase. I am more of a stills photographer, but wanted this to take on holiday with. Great quality movies and very easy to use. Comes with a handy remote control unit. So far I have found the battery life to be pretty good. I would certainly recommend this one. I got it next day delivery too as an Amazon Prime customer.
