Customer Rating: Summary: Powershot - Powerhouse Comment: I needed a new camera, one that could take decent quality photo's and not break the bank. With the Powershot, I got more than I could have possibly wished for, I love it. After using it for about six months, I'd like to say the following about it:
Not only does it take extremely good photo's, but on the scrn setting, it does so with point and click ease. The battery life is pretty good too, provided of course that you use decent batteries (at least 2500mah). With those batteries or better, two sets last me a whole day of really happy snapping. With all the different settings you can make, snapping isn't all this little baby is capable of though, you could turn out quite professional looking pictures if you wanted to.
Not to mention the camera's other functions, like voice recording and video with sound (which you can connect to TV for playback), which all work wonderfully well.
All in all, this is a great little camera that, as they say, does what it says on the tin (+ more). If it lasts a few years and there seems no reason why it shouldn't, I won't be needing anything else for a good while.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent bargain Comment: I dropped my old 430 and the lense broke. I had been really pleased with it great colours in pictures and easy to use. This camera was available at a bargain price (the blue is £130) and so I didn't hesitate to get what is effectively the same camera again. I would love to get one at this price for my boys but it is most definitely pink so I don't think they would think it was very cool. When I look at my pics on ebay items they always seem more realistic than anyone elses and I put that down to the camera.
Customer Rating: Summary: great for technophobes Comment: I bought this as a gift for my technophobic in-laws. within a very short space of time they had mastered the basic functions, (point and press) and now they can even upload their photos to a CD. Looks pretty, easy to use, decent quality photos. Comes with batteries, but no memory card, which is worth bearing in mind if you want to use it straight away.
overall, a good, simple, more-or-less idiot proof first-time digital camera.
Customer Rating: Summary: what you see is not always what you get! Comment: It's an okay camera, especially for kids (age 10+). Downside, slow recharging between taking photos, not ideal if wanting to take several shots in a hurry. What you see through the eye piece is not what appears on the shot/lcd screen. i.e. the screen seems to zoom in so what you've framed through eye piece gets chopped off round the edges. Mind you, kids seem to prefer just using the screen instead of viewer to take photos. Haven't opened the software pack yet, as we tend to use picassa (free from google) to edit photos. Some useful preset options. Worth playing around with it or showing the kids how to use some of the other options (they can never start too early!).
Customer Rating: Summary: Cute, Cute, CUTE! Comment: The camera arrived in good packaging. I was surprised how cute it was, the colour is a divine hot pink! There were no faults, so the delivery proved to be a success. In the box i found many things, including a usb plug and a plug that can connect to the television- so you can view your pictures on bigscreen!
I found that the camera takes better pictures when on flash and under a good light.
Great for taking pictures when going out, or on holiday.
I'm really pleased as it was a good product for a good price!
