Customer Rating: Summary: DOES convert to Multi - Region ... in seconds!! Comment: Great little DVD player that arrived in 3 days (thanks Amazon!) Following Kalpesh's instructions with guidance from easytiger75's review it was so easy to change to "0" region! I did it in minutes, if not seconds. Cheers guys.
The player is also able to 'resume' from where you left off after pressing 'stop' despite some reviews stating it doesn't have that function. My only whim is that the tray isn't "deep" enough. My partner has a habit of loading discs and getting them stuck with half the disc trapped inside!
But all in all, A recommended, affordable DVD player. I brought it to play Region 1 DVD's and it does just that! Can't complain
Customer Rating: Summary: It does what it says on the tin. Comment: I have bought this DVD Player to only play R1 DVDs as my DVD/VCR combi does not play them. For the price, it has an excellent picture quality. The small size is a plus as I am slowly running out of space.
I am very pleased with it and I would recommend it to anyone who want a no frills easy to use DVD player.
Customer Rating: Summary: Superb!! Comment: Great dvd player for an excellent price. This is multi region capable; this means after you have changed the region code it's able to play any region of dvd. I don't understand some of the people who have gave this product a bad review.... its great!
Customer Rating: Summary: Kalpesh's advice does work! Comment: Only just got the Philips today but so far so good! Mega easy to install. I just want to say to those experiencing trouble making it multi-regional that I got there after only a few attempts. Kalpesh's instructions are correct. It's just not clear that when you get to 'Preferences' there is no on-screen prompt to change the regional code. There isn't a sub-heading for it either. You literally just need to type in the code (you won't see anything appear on screen) and then a region code prompt comes up, which you need to change. It worked straight away for me once I figured it out. Now playing US DVDs nicely!
Customer Rating: Summary: multi region my a**e! Comment: experienced same problem as the guy below. followed Kalpesh instructions and no options given to change region once code has been entered - the thing just goes back to beginning.very disappointing, especially given the fact that i bought a few american dvd's in anticipation.
