Customer Rating: Summary: ace piece of kit Comment: brilliant little thing, makes my dvd collection come to life, oceans 11 is one that stands out as looking nothing short of amazing through my samsung tv, and that is only 720p. this little player really is pretty faultless at this price and with these features!
Customer Rating: Summary: A little hacked off.... Comment: On ordering this product the main features wanted were the upscaling and the fact i could enable this to play multi region disks.
I practically received this in record time (bravo Mr Tronics), The upscaling works a treat (huge tick) although annoyingly the multi region fix appears not to work anymore !!!!!
The player looks slick and sits well with my tv and would almost certainly of given 4/5 stars had the multi region of worked.
Customer Rating: Summary: HD DVD is dead :o( Comment: I take no pleasure in the fact that "Blu-ray" won but anyone who buys this now must have loved "Betamax" more than was healthy.
Customer Rating: Summary: No problems with ours????? Comment: I bought this for my partner for Christmas to match our fab new Samsung 40" LCD TV with all that HD jazz (now thats a wicked piece of kit). Its been great for us. We only really watch original DVDs so can't comment on the DVD-r use and we haven't yet found the need to make it multi-region (didn't even know it could be changed to multi). I bought it because it looked good/slim & has the HDMI upscaling both of which do as they should beautifully. Casino Royale and the like are of an amazing quality, remote works fine, looks good!! I would recommend it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Poor customer service - faulty product, Comment: I ordered this in eary May, after reading the many reviews and not wanting to go the full BuRay route at present.
Once received the player had a fault with the LED display panel being garbled and displaying corrupted charcatres. Also , the player hung frequently requiring unplugging as the power off wouldnt wotk in this case..
Contacted Pixmania on 18th may and got no response. Contacted again today and told it was outside of their 30 day policy..hmm
Very disatisfied. I have been an Amazon customer for many years, and never had a complaint before now.
I would not buy through Pixmania again...
