Inserted batteries, worked first time no setting up required, seems to work better than the original sensor. Customer Rating: Summary: Useful Accessory Comment: Although I have the proper wired sensor bar that comes with the Wii, I occasionally take my wii round to friend's houses and use it on other tvs in the house - and this wireless bar is perfect for such occasions. Whilst it is a little hungry on the batteries (I'd suggest buying a few packs of rechargeable batteries) and a bit bigger than I expected, it works perfectly with no problem at all to set up (just press the on button). Apart from the Wii itself and the controllers, this is probably one of the best accessories I have bought and would have no problem recommending it for use as a secondary sensor bar for when you are using your Wii away from the normal tv you use it on if you don't want to have to unplug and reposition the wired sensor bar all the time. Customer Rating: Summary: Just use two lit candles! Comment: The bar is just a infrared transmitter, it has two points of infra red. Bluetooth is what actually makes the control wireless, infra red is used as a locator. Two lit candles on the top of the tv will do the same thing, your wii remote will pick up the infra red from the candles (heat). However if your tv cant have two little tealight candles on it or you fear/liable to burn your house down then this item is a more expensive version, batteries cost more than candles! lol.But are safer. The bar you get with the machine does the trick though. Customer Rating: Summary: Batteries Comment: Pls note that my sensor bar is powered by 6 AAA batteries and not the AA as suggested above. I suggest checking the unit itself, before spending a small fortune on 2 sets of the wrong size rechargable batteries and not relying on the info posted above. Customer Rating: Summary: A novel replacement for the rather flimsy official variation. Comment: This sensor works just as well as the official sensor that comes in the box, which is very comforting just in case i break the old one i will still be able to play wii sports with my pals. However i would strongly urge you gather some rechargeable batterys as this will eat through duracells like a hummer does to petrol. Recommended. More Reviews
Editorial Reviews: The Nintendo Wii Wireless Sensor bar means that the Wii remote sensor bar, which as standard has a cable that trails to the console and is only around a meter and a half long meaning the standard sensor bar has to be with in that diustance to the console and is also recomended to be sitting directly above or below your TV, can now be situated anywhere thus your console doesn't have to be sitting next to your TV any more.
