Customer Rating: Summary: Ace Acer! Comment: Have had this laptop for almost 9 months and have been very pleased with it. The main reason for purchasing this one was the 17" screen which is better for my husband who is registered as visually impared following a stroke - he finds the screen clear and easy to see especially when using spreadsheets.
I also like it for my digital photography - it is so simple to use when you can just slot a sd card into the laptop and download straight onto a cd.
All in all it does exactly what we want and we're 100% pleased with it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Not bad except for Vista Comment: Not a bad laptop, with good features and clear screen. The only down side is that Vista slows it down and I disabled Acer Empowering Technologies for the same reason. To get a 5 star rating it should have come with XP.
Customer Rating: Summary: Don't buy Acer Comment: I bought an Acer laptop, 6 weeks later it was broken. 3 months after that it was still at their factory 'being repaired' I asked for a refund but was refused. We were treated very badly by the company.
Customer Rating: Summary: Clock Speed Comment: The processor in this laptop runs at either 1800 MHz or 2000 MHz.
Not 3500 MHz as stated below.
Customer Rating: Summary: High Quality - Fair Price, An Excelent Buy! Comment: This is by far the best buy of laptops currently available on the market for it current retail price.
You'll find it hard on any website or retail shop to get a superbly modeled and high specification laptop for this price,... and those that come close, don't have a built in card reader.
For an AMD 3.5GHz Single Cell Processor, 1GB of RAM, and 80GB Hard Disk you'll find it very difficult to match or beat the quality and price anywhere. And in most retail stores you'll find that less than 5% of laptop/notebook computers have an AMD Processor which is a big statement from Acer on this one.
The only thing lacking is the Operating System, which comes with the basic version of Microsoft's Vista OS, which is easily upgradable once you are online.
An excelent buy for anyone considering to buy a new laptop, be it for work, play, both or just a little surfing between T.V. programs.

Here are some things that aren't dead: Jeff Goldblum and plasma TVs. Of course, if you're reading this in 2050 there's a good chance that Jeff Goldblum is now dead, but if it's 2050, why on Earth are you reading about a plasma from 41 years ago? That's like us reading about a black and white TV in a little wooden cabinet. Anyway, how is the future? Are there hoverboards yet? Is 3D TV still a dismal waste of time? Please, do tell us all about your exciting futuristic lives via the comments section -- it's been fitted with a flux capacitor which should enable your thoughts to transcend the usual rules of linear time. So, as we were saying, plasma isn't dead, despite rumours to the contrary, and LG's 50PS6000 should help persuade you of this unassailable fact.
