Customer Rating: Summary: Better than expected. Comment: After reading the previous reviews I went ahead and purchased my camera, which arrived this morning.
I, stupidly in hind sight, read the Which report on this camcorder AFTER making the purchase and they only gave it
37%, so I was a bit worried. My anxiety was short lived however.
After having the camera, and using it for only a few hours, out and about today, I am incredibly pleased with my purchase.
It's size makes it ideal for popping into your pocket, and it can be powered up and recording in seconds.
I bought this camera as I have a baby due in 2 weeks so the fast start up is ideal to catch those memorable moments.
The ability to simply remove the SD card and put the pics and video onto my PC after a having to fuss about with Cassettes and DV cables is
a massive relief. The 6mp camera is easy to use and has the facility to snap stills at the same time as shooting video.
For a sub £200 camera/camcorder I can highly recommend it, and I haven't even used under water facility yet!
Customer Rating: Summary: Great waterproof anywhere - anytime camcorder Comment: I own an SLR but i needed something i could wack in my pocket and take anywhere to video with half decent quality , so i opted for the CA65.
It has exceeded my requirements by far! the camera switches on virtually instantly, it has a crisp bright display, and it's so easy to use.
Love this camera and would recomend to anyone who wants a camcorder that fits in their pocket and use anywhere without the worry of it getting wet in the rain (or whilst swimming in the carribean !)
Customer Rating: Summary: pocket sized go anywhere 2 cameras in one ! Comment: I was pleasently surprised by the xacti, it has been with me on travels now and coped very well, it takes a great pic and very good video, tip though turn off the image stabilizer it takes away clarity and i try to pan round steadily. very good zoom and with a 4 gig card in it it will take a whole trips worth of vid's and pic's. spare batteries essential but luckily surprisingly cheap to buy as are the cards.only slight dislike is the weak flash ( hense 4 not 5 out of 5) but with minimal photo editing you can overcome any dark photo's so it's forgivable .Ive had a few digi cameras now and this is the best and most practical of the lot, i would recomend you buy one just remember it is a hybrid not one thing or the other so there will be a small comprimise( for the perfectionist's out there )
Customer Rating: Summary: A great little web based camera Comment: I purchased this camera about 2 weeks ago and now carry it in the car at all times. it is very easy to use and the video is surprisingly good even played back on my 42" tv and is truely exceptional on the computer screen.
the stills camera takes a little getting use to as the grip is unconventional for a stills camera but with practice the picture quality is excellent and the image stabilisation is as good as cameras that are twice the price. The supplied software is ok but the video can be easily edited and compressed with any package and there are better packages on the market but possibly not at this price. this camera is also truely water proof, dust proof and shock proof. i dropped it from the roof of the car and it still work perfectly
Customer Rating: Summary: Most Impressive Comment: Never thought it would be this versatile! Camera arrived on Thursday and flew out on holiday on Saturday. On Sunday we went snorkelling and took the camera. After a few stills on the beach we entered the water much to everyones amazement and took some underwater shots and some video. We couldn't wait to connect to laptop and take a look.........most impressive, and friends with us were simply blown away. No one took any better pics than us, no one else took any underwater pics and certainly no one else took any underwater video!! It was worth it just to see the look on peoples faces.
Have posted our first underwater pic on this site under helpful images/advice...do take a look.
