Customer Rating: Summary: Overall - Great! Comment: Does just about everything you could expect. Digital TV reception okay with my own indoor aerial (Film 4 and BBC 3 a bit dodgy). There is supposed to be a wake up timer (also used for the recording function) but there doesn't seem to be a standby function so you can only power off using the mains switch! Leave it on and it will initiate recording at the set time. Unit can't be used as a Freeview box because the A/V output only works for DVD. Plugging in the mains adapter doesn't disable the battery so it will start charging as soon as the the power switch is turned off - not good for battery life.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent except for tinny integrated sound Comment: Only drawbacks are the tinny sound (use some headphones and it is OK) and poor user manual.
For UK analog TV you need to set it up with sound system option 'I'.
I was pleased that it also comes with a nylon pouch/holder for in car use
to attach to headrest of seat in front (not shown in accessories).
So far only used TV and DVD functions.
Customer Rating: Summary: GOOD VALUE ITEM Comment: I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE PICTURE QUALITY AND DIGITAL FACILITIES CONCERNING THIS EQUIPMENT. CONNECTED TO A HOUSE AERIAL, ( EVEN REMOTELY ) THE PICTURE AND RECEPTION WAS EXCELLENT IN ALL MODES. ONLY DRAWBACKS ARE
A. SOUND COULD BE A LITTLE BETTER,
B. INDOOR ARIEL RECEPTION VERY POOR.
BUT, HEY WHO CARES, THE DVD/DIGITAL PLAYER IS A GREAT ASSETT IN MY AREA, AND FOR THE PRICE THAT I PAID, I AM VERY VERY CONTENT
Customer Rating: Summary: Great DVD player Comment: Was nervous about buying this because I hadn't heard of the brand or seen many recent reviews so it seemed to good to be true. I am really impressed with it - the DVD has a very good screen and functionality. The DVD lid is a little flimsy. I had expected to sacrifice build quality for all the extras (TV and games) and was actually pleasantly surprised by the overall feel and packaging. It was a Christmas present for my son and certainly had the "wow" factor.
Customer Rating: Summary: Orbit or shnorbit? Comment: Well, having bought one of these players, I really must say how good it really is. It plays almost anything you put in it, it's fairly well made, only drawback is the poor sound quality through the internal speakers. Though this is nothing to worry about as you tune in any receiver to the same frequency set on the FM transmitter built in the thing and you get good quality sound anwhere in the home.
The picture is of quite good quality given the resolution and to top it all it's cheap. You get a lot of player for little money.
It would be advisable not to expect good digital or analogue TV without a good aerial unless you live near a transmitter!!. I can get good results off both with a reasonable House aerial.
All in all, I would give the thumbs up to this player and the company who supplied it to anyone.
Well done Allcam.

Despite all the awful shopping channels, there's a wealth of great TV to record on Freeview. For maximum flexibility you'll want a DVD recorder and PVR with plenty of storage space, and that can record cable or satellite from a number of inputs.
