Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent product if a little cranky Comment: This product works very well once one sorts out the playback. I am using it with a Sony Vaio notebook and it works well once I found the right settings. The free software, I think Audacity, works, but it does not sort out tracks - just sucks everything in as one huge kluge. Reason for not giving five stars is this software. I have solved that problem by spending a small amount of money on 'Spin it Again' software, which deals with levels and separates the music into tracks automatically, while still giving the opportunity to edit it. The sound quality of the tracks loaded is remarkably good.
Customer Rating: Summary: COMPLETE AND UTTER WASTE OF MONEY Comment: Let's go through how utterly useless this product is:
1) First and foremost, if you're hoping recording your vinyl is as simple as connecting this product to your PC through a USB port - you are sadly mistaken. You still need to connect this the turntable to your hi-fi or amplifier in order to actually HEAR anything. I repeat: You CANNOT hear what is being recorded through your PC speakers, and you cannot hear what you are recording as you record it without connecting the turntable to an external hi-fi or amplifer.
2) No problem if you have a hi-fi or amplifier, we've connected it up to get sound, so everything's all set right? WRONG. The turntable itself is shoddy and cheap, this results in playback sounding like someone is taking the speakers in and out of a room, the sound is constantly waving in and out in volume because of how unstable the turntable itself is on the base. So when you do actually get to HEAR what you're recording, the resulting sound is unlistenable and your recorded .wav files are a mess of static and oversaturated bass.
AVOID THIS PIECE OF RUBBISH. You do not need a USB connection to record vinyl to a PC, you can connected any turntable to your soundcard with a line-in/phono connection - is it the perfect solution? No, but at least you can record your vinyl, listen to it and adjust the results yourself in an audio editing software package. Again slapping down the cash for this is akin to flushing your wallet down the toilet.

Customer Rating: Summary: DOES NOT WORK Comment: Despite having written a previous adverse review it has been deleted - strange that !! Basically this product DOES NOT DO WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO. I and my techno friends have failed to get this thing to record and despite having contacted the manufacturer, they have contacted me by e-mail and suggested I telephone another purchaser to ask him how he did it. WHAT PATHETIC AFTER SALES SERGVICE !!
Customer Rating: Summary: Does exactly what it says Comment: Looked at reviews for USB record player. Finally decided on this one and glad I did.
Unpacked, installed and ready to use in 20mins.
I dont do loads of fancy work with Audacity the software which is supplied just record,I found it easier to record and save one track at a time(Stop software , Lift needle)then highlight start 5sec and Fade in, Highlight last 5sec and fade out. then select all and remove clicks&pops. i dont require faultless sound so works for me.Now quite a few on my ipod.A way to go yet though
Customer Rating: Summary: Would not recommend Comment: I was very disappointed with both the turntable and the software. I tried installing it on 2 different PCs both running Windows XP. In both cases not only did the software not allow me to record or listen to the discs, it also disabled the soundcard so there was no sound from other applications such as Media Player. I had to uninstall the software and do a system restore!
I was however, very impressed with Amazon - I returned the item and my credit card was refunded within a couple of days.
