Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Design but Interference a Major Problem Comment: I was looking for a small, very light, speaker for my new ipod nano that I could take on holiday and use in places like hotels. The StreetParty Size Zero seemed like an ideal speaker for the job, with a reported weight of 300g and dimensions not much bigger than an average paperback book.
It is indeed a very small speaker. Thin and light. The ipod nano fits very well on the dock, though note if you keep your ipod in a protective case like I do you may have to take it out of the case to quickly get a good connection.
Sound quality is excellent, and the volume should be more than enough for most purposes. But here's the problem - there is quite a bit of interference (probably coming from the adaptor). Sometimes it sounds like it's picking up morse code, sometimes it's more of an irritating buzz. When listening to music, particularly at high volumes, you won't notice it. If however you are a fan of podcasts or audiobooks then this speaker makes them unlistenable.
I didn't know if this was an isolated problem or not, so I tried it in different locations around the house with the same result. Then I took it back to the Retailer and they tried it in the store with the same result. As a final test they tried a new speaker fresh out of the box and the same thing happened. It's disappointing becuase this really is a great looking product.
Customer Rating: Summary: price performance and portability, well done gear4 Comment: overall excellent.
two drawbacks are,
1 physical conection between ipod and dock a bit weak, and unsuported, prob not made more secure to allow compatability with a wide range of ipods, but if you had an accident i could see it breaking easily,
2 a bit of vibration at some frequencies when played loud, but then what do you expect.
other than that its amazing
1 sickly small and compact. mobile with bateries, and an included travle plug and charging adapter.
2 excelent sound quality for its size, tweeters and low freq 2 watt woofer of sorts, make it stand out.
3 tiny remote responceive to button press's and from diferent angles.
4 price performance sweet spot, its so hard to find a decent mid price mid performance dock/speaker system but this is it. it has it all, quality compatcness and price.
5 excelent functionality, knows its way round the i pod software, swiches to the charging screen the moment you stop playing music. instantanious playback. plug n play, sync music to your pc via mini usb port, and play from other sources with a line in port.

Customer Rating: Summary: Neat and cheap Comment: Got this from costco for < £30 and i'm really impressed. very small and light and the sound is suprisingly good considering.
Given that this costs only a tenner more than an ipod charger and plays music as well as charging its great value for money.
Looks sleek and comes with a case (if very simple), a remote, and power adapters.
ONly critism is that the dock part is a bit flimsy, but i'm sure if it's looked after (or at least not misused) that's not a problem,
Customer Rating: Summary: Decent Speaker but not compatible with iPhone Comment: I bought these for my iphone. Unfortunately they do not work with it. Interestingly they will charge it, but they will not play tunes through the dock. You can use it on your iphone dock, but you need to have a lead to do this, as one is not supplied. It is a real shame, because they are a nice little set of speakers - very neat, and come with adaptors for when you are travelling.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great sound, portable and full of functionality. Comment: I actually got this free when I bought my iPod Touch this past weekend and have been using it at work. The sound is very good and it's very light so easily portable between home and work and from room to room. Considering the iPod Touch doesn't come with a mains charger this comes in handy for non USB charging too.
The only negative is getting the iPod Touch to dock onto the speaker system which is quite stiff so you have to be careful to not break the connecting socket on your iPod or the connecting plug of the docking system.
The remote comtrol is nice and small - I have enough book sized remotes in the lounge so its nice to have a sleak one for a change. It not only controls the volume of the music but also lets you navigate through the music library on your iPod so you can change album without getting up. It also has 'loop' and 'random play' buttons so you can change the playing mode at the click of a button.
All in all I'd say it's a very good speaker system for anyone with an iPod who wants mobility and functinality. Also comes with a padded case and both UK and European plug connectors - great!
