Customer Rating: Summary: Simple to use but grainy images Comment: This camera is a breeze to use. Very simple, point and click camera. And my wife was very pleased with it being pink!
However, no matter what conditions or settings the camera is used in the pictures are poor quality and grainy. Disappointing.
Customer Rating: Summary: Does what I want, but nothing special... Comment: I'm no pro photographer but I'm an enthusiastic amature and own/have owned many a camera.
Canon has always been my camera of choice, however I purchased an S-series Fuji a couple of years ago when I was still loathe to ditch my 35mm SLR for digi but, at the same time, wanted a half decent digi. The S-series was good but chunky and I found myself still reaching for the SLR more often than not, just because it was equally as easy to lug about (a slight exaggeration, but still...). Anyway, a sticky-fingered accident led to the demise of my S-series and by then I had upgraded to a Canon DSLR anyway so I decided my second camera should be something more for nights out and flinging in the handbag. I didn't want to spend a fortune but wanted something that could happily record my day/night out nicely (I'm not asking for master pieces) and that was portable. This really mostly fits the bill.
Pros are:
* It's compact (it really is handbag size)
* It's easy to use - take it out of the box, charge it, and get snapping. Even a novice could use it with no problems.
* It generally takes half-decent pictures. They may not look it on the LCD but colours are often fantastic.
* Battery life is decent, even with extended flash use.
* Downloading is a cinch and, if you don't want MORE software on your PC then you can just drag and drop.
* It's pretty cheap, particularly considering what you get.
* The macro function really is very good. I have taken some amazing macro shots with this and might even choose it over my DSLR for ease of use in that respect.
* Video is a nice feature and works well for a bit of fun filming.
Cons are:
* The LCD monitor is highly annoying. Pictures look grainy on it and, worse, when you playback your pics you have to hold the camera at a ridiculous angle to see what the colour and detail looks like.
* It can be pretty slow. Don't bank on capturing all those impromptu snaps (unless you happened to be one step ahead of the game by chance). Somtimes it seems to take ages to focus, ready the camera and actually take the picture, which means its easy to miss out on capturing the moment.
* Sometimes it just doesnt want to focus and, try as you might, you get a grainy, out of focus pic. Usually this is in low-light situations, but really - not THAT low light!
* The pictures are decent but not amazing. This really is a fun camera rather than a serious bit of kit but, to be fair, it is sold exactly as that!
* There are WAY too many silly pre-settings, however this is not just a fault of Fuji as everyone seems to be doing this at the moment. 3-4 really is ample and I would be pretty surprised if anyone actually bothers to use all their modes.
So all in all 4/5. Compared to other cameras in general I would rate it lower than this, but I'm rating bearing in mind cost/value, what it's marketed as and what I use it for personally. It's not as good as my old S-series (or any of my SLRs), but it's about 1/4 of the size and I use it regularly and reliably.
If you're new to digital photography this is a great entry level camera. Likewise, if you're looking for something small to supplement your collection of larger, less portable cameras, then this is ideal. It is what it is though, and you do get what you pay for, so think about what you really want to use this for before buying.
Customer Rating: Summary: on time Comment: max five working days for this to arrive..

Customer Rating: Summary: good camera Comment: This camera ia very cute, easy to use. Did not need to read the manual to figure it out. It takes very good shot although like some other reviews have said it sometimes looks a little grainy on screen but when you put your pictures on the computer it is fine.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great camera Comment: I spent ages trying to find a simple "point and shoot" camera and I have found it!
This camera is great its small and light weight for carrying in your handbag, it has really simple controls (not loads of buttons) and its very easy to use with your computer.
If your looking for a camera to take out on nights out this is the one.
