Summary: loved it!
Comment: I bought this as a compact occassional use cd / dab player for the bedroom, but have been so incredibly impressed with it that I have it in my sitting room! From the moment I took it out of the box, the quality just spoke volumes. Plug it in and it automatically knows the time abd the date! Brilliant search on the DAB, nothing you cant get (and I live in Devon). I have not heard any hum that others mention. The only drawback I would say is that the sound quality is very slightly tinny, but that is down to its tiny compact size. Very impressed with this, excellent quality at a very good price. I would definitely buy more Pure products.

Comment: I would give an excellent report on this product. The sound effect is perfect considering the size of the unit and the radio reception in top quality.

Summary: total satisfaction
Comment: before purchasing i read all the reviews here. so i bought expecting there might be trouble in certain areas. however, that was not the case.

regarding remarks about the 'flimsy' radio aerial - we are getting perfect reception. furthermore, with a rigid, telescopic aerial, you have to point it at the nearest mast - which sometimes requires fiddling with position of the radio, and is not always convenient in a tight spot.

regarding non-responsiveness of the buttons - this was the most worrying, since we were getting this for my wife who has difficulty pressing things, but she uses the remote exclusively, and it responds just fine.

we got this for the kitchen (perfect space saver in a corner) so haven't used the alarm, snooze function etc.

at time of posting, there is one for sale at £69.99, compared to RRP of £99.99, so snap it up! i bought ours at £79.99 and thought i was doing well.

Summary: a bit disappointed
Comment: I can't see how anybody can give this radio a five star review. It has some good features (cd/mp3/fm as well as dab. looks okay, sounds okay) but it is frustrating in so many ways.

30 presets but only 1 preset button that you have to scroll through and no access to it from the remote control. What is the point of that?

Nothing works on one touch. If I point my remote control at the telly and scroll through the programmes it does just that, scrolls through the channels. With this remote control you scroll with one button and then select with another.

Exactly the same principle works on the radio itself... scroll the presets or the dab stations with one button and then select with another. This is irritating. And, what makes it more irritating is that the button sensitivity is poor on both the radio and the remote so that I keep making mistakes.

Another reviewer pointed out that the radio is light and the buttons difficult to press so that the radio moves as you press the controls. They are so right. I stick to the remote for most things but of course that excludes the pre sets.

I won't go on but, be sure, there are more things that dog me off.

When DAB first appeared I wanted a Pure radio but as they were expensive I bought an Intempo. Now the Intempo is back in the kitchen where I listen most often and the Pure has been exiled to the bedroom. Disappointing.

Summary: Gadget for techno phobes
Comment: I ordered this for my wife to use in the kitchen. It arrived when I was at work, but when I got home my wife had set it up, tuned all the stations and colud use all the functions. this may not sound much but my wife has trouble stting up a hair dryer!
The sound for such a small device is very clear.
