Customer Rating: Summary: A really good phone Comment: I bought this phone for my home office, and it does the job brilliantly. Beyond the telephonic basics, it has excellent sound quality and volume, easy-press buttons, fully illuminated display, simple menu system and so on, all in a relatively small handset. The answerphone unit is really small, and easy to operate. For a phone of this price, it is unusual to see a colour screen. The night mode is really handy for a home office, as it silences the phone outside office hours.
I've given it five stars because I really like it, but it has one major flaw: The choice of voice for the answerphone. Of all the voices in all the world that Panasonic could have chosen, it chose... a bored-sounding fresh "art-a-skoo teenage-ah". It is so obviously wrong, but it makes me smile every time I hear it. It is so bad it's almost genius.
Customer Rating: Summary: Good machine, pity about the recorded voice Comment: If you are used to programming mobile phones, this is a straightforward machine to use, and its build quality appears to be good. My one gripe is the uncouth tones of the pre-recorded voice which announces to you that you have X number of calls. Given that I am going to have to listen to this girl daily until my telephone wears out, I think an educated voice would have been a better choice than that of a girl who sounds as if she failed to get any GCSEs.
Customer Rating: Summary: Outstanding phone Comment: At last! A home phone that is easy to use, with a large clear screen and large buttons (backlit) - such a change from other tiny handsets with buttons only a child could press. Useful features like the call restrict and night mode are great. I am so happy to have found the perfect phone.
Customer Rating: Summary: Really pleased with Phone and service! Comment: Had a great expirience buying this phone, online purchase very easy, but missed the postman twice and it was sent back to the company. They called me and arranged for the best way to redeliver and I recieved it the day after. Fantastic service!
The phone itself is great, looks lovely in my home and is really easy to use while still being useful.
Customer Rating: Summary: Quality Phone Comment: One aspect of this phone not covered elsewhere,(and my sole reason for buying it)is the ability to bar groups of calls via the handset.Do you have family members constantly calling premium rate numbers or mobiles.Up to 6 dialling codes can be barred and therefore calls cannot be made to them. I currently have 0870,0901,07(mobile) all barred and my phone bill has dropped over £25 a month.
Some phone providers will bar premium rate numbers at source,(my provider Sky doesn't)however this can be inflexible. It may be you need to call say an 0870 number (nearly all businesses use these),if so you can remove the barring (pin protected) temporarily, then put it on again after your call.
On a slighly negative note the "one touch dialing facility" is actually two touches, you have to press and hold down the corresponding key (1,2,3,etc),this brings up your phonebook entry, and then you have to press the green dial key.Why Panasonic couldn't have made this the same as most mobiles, where you only have to press and hold the one key to dial I do not know, and how they get away with describing it as "one touch dialling facility" is a mystery.
Night mode is handy, whereby all incoming calls will not ring between times preset by yourself ( default 23.00 - 07.00),you can tweak the settings here by use of a ring delay facility ( callers ringing for more then 60 / 90 secs etc will get through, also you can categorise callers into groups and allow access to individual groups regardless of night mode settings. Very handy for close family.
I recently sold the more expensive Panasonic model for this and I believe this is the better choice. It has all the same important features, is ergonomically better (in my opinion)and only loses features that very few people would use (PC link etc). Let's be honest, how many of us want to import our MS Outlook contacts into our phone via the PC. By the time you've figured it all out you could have input all the numbers anyway
Finally for 0870 numbers (a modern day rip off) try web site "say no to 0870" it will often provide a proper "area code" number which will be free if you have a call plan with your provider.0870 numbers are excluded from call plans

Panasonic Goes Sleek with the KXTG 8220 The stylishly refined KXTG8220, a cordless phone from Panasonic, is one designer phone that'll let you explore the full range of untethered digital convenience. Sleek lines give this Panasonic cordless phone the character it has that sets it apart from its forebears and rivals. The 1.5 LCD ensures accurate display readability for an easier management of one's calls while the phone's in-built answering machine able to support messages lasting the entire length of 40 minutes allow for extended user connectivity. Missed calls will no longer be an issue at the workplace or home with the KX-TG8220E. The speakerphone lets users appreciate the hands-free convenience though the headset jack offers headgear compatibility as another possible alternative to that. For handy contact access, the phonebook can store 200 names and numbers. With the KX-TG 8220, function is guaranteed to work excellently well with fashion.
