Customer Rating: Summary: pretty good Comment: As far as the wife and kids go it has been a complete success and I hope it continues. As far as I'm concerned it was really addictive for the first two days but I have a genetic balance problem and stumbled on the board so I won't be using it anymore even though I need to excercise, i'll stick to my powerball but it is a real success for my family.
Customer Rating: Summary: A question for flat dwellers! Comment: Hi,
I really want one of these but I live in a flat - can anyone let me know how much actual jumping around there is or is more stretching/balancing? I am not sure my downstairs neighbour would appreciate too much bumping on her ceiling!
Many thanks
(have give 5* rating on basis of how much I want one!!)
Customer Rating: Summary: Brilliant Comment: I have only had my wii console for a week and my wii fit for 3 days and I can honestly say it is the best money ever spent. I am an over 40 lady with no children at home so it might be a surprise to some that I would be interested in this but it is superb fun and the wii fit in particular is challenging without being impossible. I have already unlocked several of the hidden games and it's only my 4th day of using it. OK the graphics are not as good as some formats but the fun level is far superior. I have never understood what is so fascinating about sitting in front of a screen with a control pad, just moving your fingers GET MOVING!!
Customer Rating: Summary: A great supplement to my fitness regime Comment: Got this a couple of days ago, as part of an ongoing exercise to lose quite a lot of fat that has been building up around me. Blast those pork chops. Anyway, I've been going to the gym 3 times a week so I thought I'd breeze through this.
The yoga exercises have found my balance to be wanting. Sometimes trying to follow what is happening on-screen is tricky, but the encouragements from my "trainer" (and watching wife) help.
The muscle exercises I have had no issues with so far, except that you will need a space to stretch out fully in front of the TV.
The balance games are great, so far tried skiing, ball rolling, tightrope walking and ski jumping. All really good fun, but apart from making you aware of your posture i don't see real fitness benefits in here.
The aerobics are also great fun. The step exercise (initially baffling) is actually very good. The jogging-on-the-spot takes you on a run around a typical Nintendo setting called "Wiffle Island" where you will spend most of your time waving at other "Miis" you have created. The last aerobics exercise I tried was hula-hooping, which made me look dangerously uncoordinated.
I did an hour of this first time through, and unlocked 6 or 7 new items. The desire to keep going is strong, but I didn't work up much of a sweat.
The next day though I could feel tangible effects, remarkable after only one play through. Muscles were making themselves known that I obviously don't exercise when doing my set routine at the gym.
If you are thinking about this as a sole weightloss or fitness regime, you may be slightly disappointed. If you are thinking about getting this as a helpful supplement to other fitness activities it really is spot-on. One of its best features is that it makes the exercises fun, and just like Brain Age it will keep a track of your progress and (I assume) shame you into doing more. It's already got me thinking about my posture, and to get my BMI down I will have to start addressing those pork chop issues. And those kebab issues. And those curry issues...etc etc
Customer Rating: Summary: Superb piece of kit Comment: This is superb but first one warning, unless you have the latest wii downloads it will not work so you need to make sure you can connect your wii to the internet.
The wii fit is superb value for money it is robust and you would probably pay as much for a set of recording scales however do not stand it on a deep pile carpet or the scales read fairly random, there are extension feet available for carpets but I have not tried them.
The games are well written and addictive with more being opened as you progress, there is also provision for the more sensitive among us to password protect weight information.
I particularly liked the sking and snowboarding and particularly frustrated by trying to get down the river.
There is something for everyone from balance games to yoga to muscle building exercises.
The only challenge now is for additional games to be as good.
