Customer Rating: Summary: Best value burner Comment: My E60L is worth its weight in...probably copper wiring at this point. But it's great. I use an iMac G5, which has a very decent burner, but the E60L blows it away, and I don't run the risk of damaging my internal drive. I paid about $70 for mine, well worth the value. It's a bit clunky, but once you hear it start up, you'll understand why. Not the quietest machine, it's blazingly fast. I now use it exclusively because it copies through USB 2.0 even faster than the internal drive does. It's also a very fast burner, averaging about 9x write speed, although one could conceivably get it up to 20x, which I would love to see. Final point: I use Roxio Toast Titanium 8 for burning, and it synced up so fast with the E60L upon first plug-in that I didn't even notice and briefly considered returning it as defunct, before I realized that it was all set up and ready to blast through some DVDs. One of the best buys in recent memory, although the user manual for it if you don't use an Apple looked kinda shady.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent unit Comment: I bought this unit because I neededed another more reliable dvd reader/burner as the one that came with my PC was problematic. I picked this drive because of the very good experiences I had with LG burners (having had a CD-RW and another DVD-RW). And it has Lightscribe as well...
Needless to say it performs perfectly, both in reading and writing. And the results of "priting" something with lightscribe are good too. Plus it's very stylish.
Highly recommended.
Customer Rating: Summary: Works with Mac OS Leopard Comment: Excellent machine - compatible with MAC OS Leopard, although it doesn't state this on the box or in the specs!! Works with Mac DiscLabel for Lightscribe. Just plugged in the USB cable and iMac and Macbook configured automatically - able to write in all modes as stated. An excellently priced DVD/Lightscribe Writer for MAC. Great!
Customer Rating: Summary: Let me down Comment: I bought this LG burner over a year ago and it went wrong!! I didn't buy it from Amazon I should add but the product is the same.
I wanted it for burning DVD's first off but also for burning CD's. I put my old skool Freecom CD only burner away. Just after, and with quite low milage the LG stopped burning DVD's all together! I wasted many blank disk trying different MPEG's thinking it was the file or the blank disk at fault, but no it was the burner.
After a month or so it stopped burning CD's too. Being an engineer I took the thing apart and cleaned the "laser" with IPA. This didn't help so got my old Freecom burner back out which is high milage and hadn't been used for over a year. It started up and is still working, no DVD burning though as its too old for that.
So now I'm in the market for a new burner, will I buy the LG? No! Will I buy another Freecom? Hell yes!
I guess its fair to say this is a one off experience and there will be a failure every now and then, just happened to be me.
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent External Burner Comment: So far this burner has done everything I wanted. It looks good too. One small point though. A few days after installing the bundled software, my spyware detector picked up Abetterinternet.aurora. After a stressful day I finally found this lurking in the Cyberlink software. No doubt there was something in the contract small print - read it more carefully than I did.

The GSA-E60L external burner from LG uses LightScribe technology to burn onto DVD-RWs and dual layers. The GSA-E60L can be quickly and easily connected to your computer thanks to its USB 2.0 port.
