Summary: Impressive little portable dvd player
Comment: This arrived with a scratch on the cover, quite an obvious one, but Amazon very efficiently sorted this out, great customer service, I was really impressed! The dvd player is a very attractive looking thing, a bit heavy when the battery pack goes one. The picture quality is really great, better than expected. Features are very basic, but straightforward and easy to use. The only disappointing this I find is the 'tin-like' sound from the speaker, but when headphones are used the sound is really is great, as good as the picture quality. Headphones are not included, which was a little disappointing. A great quality product, well built, and highly recommended, and at an unbeatable price here on Amazon.

Summary: Does what it says on the tin
Comment: This is a good machine. I've only had it a day now, so haven't 'rinsed' it yet but the picture is superb - far better than the Phillips I was eyeing in Dixons which was £20 cheaper. It's as good as my front room TV set, no exaggeration.

Payed the extra £20 because the Phillips only had 2 hours playback which I thought was a bit sheeeeite. Sony typically offers 5+ which is more like it, at least two films worth. Downside to this is that the rechargeable battery provided fits under the unit and is the same size as it and bloody heavy. This is the only real negative, it's a relatively weighty carry for the size, but that's what you get for the longer battery I suppose.

In house speaker is very poor but I suspect most would use headphones for such a device so not really an issue for me. It would be very tinny if you intended to watch it hands free.

So far I have only tested it with a few DVD's and as I say pic quality very good. I even tried it with a few copied 'Johnny Vaughan' movies I bought from a bloke on the internet and they played fine too.

Bonus!

Summary: Typical good Sony
Comment: The DVD player was delivered at 11.00am the morning after ordering at 4.00pm.
The display spec is a little dissapointing but in reality the picture quality is very good. When using head phones as I usually do , on very quiet passages there is a little motor noise created by the DVD unit but to be honest it does not spoil the usage at all. Photo and MP3 playback are great.
As usual Amazon beat all contenders on price.
All in all a great buy and the battery on playback is as good as they claim , the best I have had is 5 hours 38 mins to a charge.
