Customer Rating: Summary: Neat printer, easy installation Comment: This truly is a very neat, slick printer / copier / scanner. Having studied the reviews of similar wireless printers and the problems people experience with the wireless setup, I feared the worst. Fortunately the installation was a doddle. It does take quite a while for all the drivers and software to install, but that's hardly a problem. As the reviewer from Doncaster pointed out, if you install your PC / laptop via USB first and then you want to setup the wireless configuration, you'll have to re-insert the CD and tell it to re-configurate. After this you can start setting up other PC's and laptops. The blue light at the front panel tells you the wifi is up and running. My PC runs XP and my laptop Vista and both worked fine first time round. Highly recommended.
Customer Rating: Summary: PROBLEMS? WHAT PROBLEMS? INSTALLED BY A COMPLETE NOVICE Comment: Ive read all the reviews on amazon before purchasing this printer and im glad I ignored the majority of them. Pc World are doing this for 79.99 at the mo however I got this for 68.95 inc delivery from pixmania.
Im hopeless with computers however I got mine up and running no probs on my main pc using usb and my laptop using wireless. The only problem I had was when connecting to wireless it wouldnt work, after 7 attempts I realised it was my own stupid fault as I had not put my Livebox into pairing mode, hey presto problem solved. The software disc does take a while but at the end of the days its hardly manual labour, time always passes slowly when your sitting waiting for something to happen, so it probs isnt that slow. Cant comment on running costs but I did decide to get the XL cartridges for when the enclosed ones run out, again of amazon, got both for 40quid inc delivery. Im printing fine from downstairs using wireless so im over the moon and it turns itself on automatically when printing wireless and turns itself off automaticall to save energy.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great printer for the money. Comment: HP - Photosmart C4380 WiFi multifunction printer
I bought this printer even after reading all the reviews, all I can say to the people who had trouble installing is I followed instructions step by step and had no trouble at all, as to the size of the file placed on your computer - its not as if you have to install it every time you use it, so if you spend a little longer when first install it so be it, I'm happy for that at this price.
So overall if you want a printer that can do it all without wires for occasional use (I'm sure you will get better ink consumption from a more expensive printer) this is the printer for you.
Customer Rating: Summary: Fantastic - so far Comment: just bought this after reading all the reviews. took it out of the box, followed all the instructions and it started printing, copying and scanning straight away. printed and scanned some pics, works brilliantly and have had no problems so far
Customer Rating: Summary: HPPhotosmart C4380 Comment: Unlike some of the other reviewers, I found this product very simple to install. My only gripe is the time it takes to load all the software. I installed this machine on my main PC via the ethernet and on my laptop via the wireless network, the combined tasks taking just under an hour! Ignore all the installation problems mentioned in other reviews - if you follow the instructions you should have no problems! It is early days yet, but print quality appears to be fine. I have yet to discover printing costs.
