Summary: Good keyboard for PS3 as well as other Bluetooth PC/laptops
Comment: Well, this is a good Bluetooth keyboard designed for your PS3 but also works pretty ok with a Bluetooth enabled laptop/pc etc. I often connect my Vaio laptop to the TV to watch online channels hence I needed one to be able to use it from my sofa, and as I also have a PS3, bought this one from the US on my way back to London. It works ok with my laptop as well as the PS3 hence no problems there. Response time is good however sometimes you need to wait a few seconds for the keyboard to re-establish the connection if you keep it on but don't use for a long time. On the other hand I have never experienced a serious problem with its connection either with the laptop or PS3. This is an important point as I have had issues with some other Bluetooth keyboards I have tried before buying this one. Especially heard a few bitter stories about other Bluetooth keyboards that wont connect with PS3. Good improvement from the previous version is that you don't need a dongle hence save a USB plug for other accessories. When you turn it on it connects automatically to the latest gadget you have used it with which is also nice and non-problematic. It is pretty stylish as well and fits well with the PS3 though could have been a bit smaller for living room use in my view. A bit chunky if you are going to use it while lying down in your sofa. Keys are well sized (no Windows or PS key though) and touchpad works also ok. Overall a good keyboard and most importantly Bluetooth connection works well with different gadgets.

To be frank, you need to ask yourself the question if you really need a keyboard only for the PS3 (assuming you are using it just for gaming, media and internet, i.e. no Linux etc). For messaging and internet a thumbpad (which I also own. see my review if you are considering one) might be ok, hence, have a look at it as well. Dont forget, this keyboard lacks some crucial specs for surfing with PS3 (like zooming) hence a thumbpad add-on to your controller might be a better idea. But if you are also going to use it with another laptop/pc, it is a great and stylish keyboard that wont dissappoint you at all apart maybe from its size.

Summary: A massive improvement over the MediaBoard!
Comment: Mine's on the way...

First of all, who gives a f*ck about Linux?

The MediaBoard Pro is a massive improvement over the original MediaBoard (which I also own), and it's the only Official keyboard out for the PS3! Designed specifically for the PS3, it's shiny black - like the PS3 itself, it's Bluetooth, and the "quick media keys" (inc. X, Square, Triangle and O) make Web browsing easier and provide instant access to the XMB, movie menus and more, etc...

A MUST BUY, if you own a PS3!

Summary: Not supported on Linux, And dosen't work!
Comment: Logitech has officially and publicly announced that their MediaBoard Pro Bluetooth Keyboard for PS which released just last week is not supported on Linux for PS3.

Don't buy it. It sucks, I'm shipping mine back!
They broke Linx compatability by putting "(TM)" in the hardware identifier.
The brackets are control characters to the bluetooth software.

Forgive me for repeating this from yesterdays post under gaming consoles, but I did not get a response.
I thought this forum might be more appropriate.

Logitech Bluetooth Mediaboard Pro(TM) does not work with Linux on PS3.
I tested on Yellowdog 4.2 and Ubuntu 7.10

I keep getting connection errors when trying to connect. It complains about the "(" being a syntax error.

I assumed the complaining was about the (TM) included in the name which is also used as an identifier.
I remove the (TM) when using the bluetooth tools manually, and the error goes away, but now the identifier is incorrect.
So now the failure is justified, I am using the wrong identifier.

Is there a way to reprogram the keyboard with a new name without the (TM)?
Is there some alternative solution?
Or should I just ship it back as unusable?

You may find others who have located workarounds, but the keyboard isn't supported on Linux. There's no way to tell if it will work or not.

Are you sure you really want to make a statement like that in public?

Not supported on Linux with PS3 for a PS3 keyboard is like saying:

"You are stupid for buying our product! We only support it for functionality which is woefully inadequate for."

It is virtually useless for web browsing because it lacks any ability to resize or zoom which is the most critical aspect of the PS3 Controller when web browsing on a large screen TV."

OK I ship it back!

I bought a 30 dollar USB wifi keyboard and mouse today, it is so much better than the Logitech Media Board Pro Bluetooth (TM). Which dosen't even have a mouse or full size keyboard for 70 dollars. And no its not Logitech(TM)!
