Back in the summer of love - that's the original version - Mrs gadgetshop and I found ourselves in Nantwich, which was a very long way from San Francisco. Nor were we going there with flowers in our hair. We were, instead, going to a Festival which turned out to be very beardy wierdy indeed. Our only saving grace - and salvation - from all the humming and strumming, was our genuine and authentic VW camper van, in which we toured the A-roads and B-roads all that summer. We saw no free love, although we did see some rather nice lay-bys. Just like this modern take on that 60s Bavarian design classic, it was the star attraction of the roads, which back then were uncrowded and free-flowing. Back then the van was downright groovy, man. But not as manoeuvrable as this remote controlled beauty, which has all the fab features you'd expect of a cultural icon. It's even got a wonderfully chunky remote control, which has a distinctly robust feel. All of which makes it simply wonderful for pottering about the house, with the Byrds on the stereo, a massive roll-up on your mind, and a cool bird named Julie who says she really digs you, man. Wow. It's so, like, retro.
