Summary: Not as good as I expected from the reviews
Comment: I have an IPOD classic 80GB which I love, although to be honest I'm not blown away by the sound quality even at 320kps. I now have most of my music on it and am getting fed up of only listening via headphones. I came across the Klipsch iGroove decks and ordered the SXT based wholly on these review. Just before it was due to be despatched I was in an Apple store looking at the new iMacs and happened to notice they were selling the SXT along with a no of other deck. I asked for a listen and was not too impressed. It did sound very loud and deep for the size of unit, but was also rather muddy and undefined. Based on this and not wantimg the hassle of sending it back I cancelled and will wait until I get get another chance to hear it. I normally encode my IPOD music at 320 MP3 and would like to hear from anyone using 320 AAC to see if that would make a difference.

Summary: Excellent. Ace piece of kit. Excellent price
Comment: Received this morning and is so good I am writing review straight away. Excellent sound quality and compared to the bose model which is hundreds of pounds more, surely there cannot be much difference. I was not sure whether to go for this model or the more expensive one - but am really glad I went for this more compact version - very aesphetically pleasing and great sound quality! Took 5 mins to set up, remote is great and comes with lots of docks for different ipods.

Summary: Sound is great but quality wasn't
Comment: When I plugged it in I couldn't believe the size of the bass compared to the size of the unit. It was incredible and, although at high volume, the unit distorted it had to be driven pretty hard to do so.
All was fine until a few days in - the remote suddenly stopped working for no reason I could identify and whenever I moved through the ipod menus on a 30gb video ipod it would stop for a short time then start again - which I have to say got very annoying when using the menus a lot.
So, all in all a great piece of kit with some quality issues that need some attention.
I sent mine back to Amazon and replaced it with a Bose sounddock which has better sound quality and sound has been excellent (although I miss the richness of the bass the klipsch game me at low volume)

Summary: Pretty good, but lacking in features.
Comment: Positives:

This is a very sturdy, compact unit, which gives outstanding sound performance for a system of its size. Quite simply, it looks good, and it sounds excellent.

Negatives:

The system is seriously lacking in features. As far as controls go, you can turn the volume up and down, and you can skip and fast-forward tracks. That's it. There's no eq or sound adjustment, and you can't operate the ipod's usual controls (changing albums and playlists, turning random play on and off, that sort of thing).

It's also, as other people have mentioned, not that well designed for use with an ipod nano; you can't access the scroll wheel properly because the cradle gets in the way, which means you end up having to pick up the ipod whenever you want to do anything like change the album, plus there isn't a cradle adaptor for a 3G nano included in the box (the one that comes with the nano itself works okay, but mine won't clip in properly, and it's white, whereas the Klipsch is black).

Another slight downside is that while this is a compact system, I wouldn't consider it at all portable, as it's very heavy. Perfect for a bedside table though (that's where mine is). You could consider the meaty feel to be a sign of quality, of course.

Summary:

Very basic features, and not that brilliant to use with an ipod nano (much better suited to a touch or a classic), but very good-looking and sturdily made, with excellent sound quality for its size.

This system is ideal for sitting on a desk, in a kitchen or on a bedside table (it can be used as an alarm clock, although you do have to use the alarm feature on the ipod itself). I would not recommend it for use as a main ipod docking system however, or as a portable system.

I should also mention that although the sound quality on this unit is good, its not THAT good. it is only small, after all, so don't expect the world. Nevertheless, for the size of the speakers the sound is clear, rich, and surprisingly loud and bassy.

Basically, if you want features and massive sound, look elsewhere. If you want a quality, compact ipod dock, give this product some serious consideration.

Summary: Fantastic sound but poor remote
Comment: Ordered this for my better half for her birthday and was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality from such a small unit. In fairness the sound is brilliant and the clarity near perfect if you alter the EQ on the ipod but, and there is a but, this has to be done manually.

There's no way to access the interface through the remote which is kind of annoying. I've got a Zen Vision:M and playdock and the remote on that is a good example of how a remote should be.

All in all, my review is based on the unit build and sound quality and both these are excellent.

Editorial Reviews:

"Klipsch's most compact and affordable iPod speaker to date, the iGroove SXT may be small but it delivers larger-than-life performances. Works with all iPods!"
