Summary: It really is as amazing as it looks.
Comment: I'd like to keep this review brief and down to a few key points, as there are a lot of long reviews on this page already.

1) The interface really is as good as it looks.

It is extremely smooth, exceptionally intuitive and virtually perfect. Not only does it look amazing, but its very efficient. The only one tiny flaw I find is that if the name of a song is above a certain length, it is truncated with no way of viewing the full song name. I don't ever find this to be a major problem, though.

2) The screen is not as prone to scratches as you might think.

I have had my iPod Touch for a few months now, and while being a careful owner I wouldn't say I've gone out of my way to protect the screen. Desipte this, its still as unblemished as when I bought it.

3) If your music collection isn't organised (correctly tagged, including album art), be prepared to spend time organising it.

While not essential to have everything nicely organised, the iPod Touch is a vastly better machine when everything is. Only then do you really appreciate all the thought that has gone into the interface.

To summarise, I would recommend the iPod Touch as an excellent mp3 player. It is extremely expensive and its easy to think that the money is just being spent on stlye, however this is not the case. Your money is being spent on the most easy to use, efficient and user-friendly interface yet seen on an mp3 player. An absolute joy to use.

Summary: amazing gadget, but with one or two faults; not for everyone.
Comment: Firstly, I want to let you into a secret...I'm one of Apple's biggest fans, so this review could be slightly biased!
That out of the way, I could gush on for ages about how sleek, how sensual and how truly stunning this incredible little gadget is. But I'll start with the slightly negative. One of the things that's annoyed me with this is how easily the back gets scratched. I'd had it for almost a week now and only taken it out the house about twice - and already the back looks like I've scraped it across a wall, no matter how hard I've tried to prevent it. However, I've ordered an accessory kit which comes with speakers, three silicone cases, a screen protector, an armband and a lanyard (not to mention a handful of adapters and chargers - Kiicks Accessory Kit For iPod Touch) so hopefully that will sort that out. Another thing that gets me, as Mr Mcclure also stated, is the lack of a power adapter! It's ridiculous, Apple make a fantastic piece of kit and sell it for £230-£250 and neglect the flipping charger! That said, this beautifully constructed work of art is one of the best ways to spend £230. I am utterly in love with my iPod Touch!

To conclude, if you're looking for a sleek, sexy and increasingly popular upgrade from your previous iPod, then this is the way to go.
However, I wouldn't really recommend the Touch to any technology-lacking MP3 buyers.

Hope this helps :)

Summary: The Best...almost....
Comment: Well what can I say....its one of the best units I have ever used. I was never an apple fan so never bought one but when I saw this I had to have it, with the software upgrade it is great. You can find your position on google maps (providing your in wifi range!), you can check the stockmarket (again only in wifi range), you can write notes, play games, look at photos (but not take them), listen to music, watch youtube, browse the internet. I mean this really is a spectacularly versatile unit. 16 GB was enough for me as my music range is limited but for someone who has a wide selection of music this may not be enough especially if you have alot of other files on there. I wouldnt recommend this unit for someone who loves music and just needs an mp3 player, but then I wouldnt recommend this unit to anyone!! As good as it is, all it really is is an iPhone without a camera or a phone, text capability!! Seriously, the only advantage I can honestly see is that it is slimmer, admittedly it is probably about half the depth of an iPhone, but apart from that it is simply an underdeveloped iPhone!! As the touch isn't particularly cheap anyway I would recommend everyone throws their old contract phones away, go to o2 and get an iPhone!! That way you dont have to carry a touch and another phone, you dont have to worry about not hearing your phone when your listening to your music, you wont have to pay the 200 plus starting price of the touch and yet...it is just as good as a touch!

Summary: Great gadget, but old Ipod accessories not compatible
Comment: I bought the 16GB Ipod Touch to replace my old style 4GB Nano. The Ipod Touch is a beautiful gadget, and is very nice to use. It is a shame that my old Ipod accessories, such as my radio and my charger, do not work with the Ipod Touch. Despite having the same dock fitting, these accessories aren't compatible and I will be forced to pay out to replace these too - expensive and not very "green". Apart from this, the Ipod Touch is great and you can have hours of fun on the wifi - browsing online, checking whats on at the cinema, reading the newspaper, checking the sports scores etc. Music and video play very well and the "cover flow" feature for browsing through your albums is fab.

Summary: Hugely over-rated
Comment: I was bought an iPod 16gb for christmas, my first MP3 player. It was a generous gift but my wife only bought it because she liked the gimmicky photo rotation trick. Even that does not work properly sometimes - angling the photo at right angles to how I want to see it. As a music player i don't think it is anything special - maximum volume can come across as quite quiet on some recordings. It's a pain to adjust the volume while playing music: first press the menu button, then slide finger across screen to activate controls then adjust volume setting. Not exactly as simple as rotating a wheel on an iPod classic!
Video picture quality is good, but fast forwarding and rewinding is tricky to control since the scroll bar is so small you can only slide it to within an approximation of where you want to jump to. You will need extra software to get DVDs/movies onto the iPod which can be fiddly.
I'm not the kind of person interested in e-mail or internet browsing on the go, so most of the apple software is redundant. And i-tunes as a controlling piece of software is not great.
