Customer Rating: Summary: Absolutely brilliant! Comment: I bought a Canon camcorder only 6 months ago and never really got on with it as it was not really small enough to fit in a pocket and only recorded for 30 minutes onto mini dvds so I decided to get this tiny Panasonic and it is FANTASTIC! I took it to Sri Lanka on my holiday and with an 8gb SDHC memory stick I recorded for over 4 hours. It is so light and small that you can take it anywhere, it is up and running in seconds, and by the end of the holiday everyone in the group was taking the model number and wanting to get one too. It was smaller than most people's digital still camera. The quality is great and with the digital zoom going up to 700x with a steady hand I could shoot fruit bats that the others could not even see at the top of a tree in the next field! You will definitely not regret buying one.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great portable, compact camcorder Comment: First camcorder that I've bought and it works great. Super compact size, very light and with an 8GB card you can get a couple of hours of storage. Unlike DV and tape camcorders, it is extremely simple to edit and merge clips on a PC or Mac. Most impressively it starts up in seconds and the sound is very good, even when zoomed in.
Customer Rating: Summary: Use with a Apple Mac Comment: Was uncertain if this or other SD cam would be happy with a Mac.
Ans is YES - but you need to have Leopard which comes with iMovie. Simply connect via the supplied lead- run Movie - run cam and follow the screen instructions - downloads fully onto iMove, Simple!
Note will not do this with Tiger and that version of iMove.
I have both - video looks fine on a 24 inch iMac...but this is the first cam I have played with
Customer Rating: Summary: Compact and Affordable Comment: Very good camera - small with lots of features - Picture quality is excellent and no tape-motor noise. Highly recommended for people looking for no-nonsense standard definition portability. (Although you may need a case.)
Customer Rating: Summary: Handy little Cancorder Comment: Have had SDR-S7 for a week. have tried it indoors and out, and to be honest the results are as clear as my Sony mini DV tape machine. Therefore considering its size and speed of start up I consider it a useful bit of kit worth the money.

The new SDR-S7 is a stylish model with an ultra-compact go-anywhere design. It offers a small size light weight and superb mobility made possible by SD/SDHC Memory Cards letting you shoot video with the same casual ease and carry-about convenience they enjoy with small digital still cameras. For occasions when in the past it may have seemed a bit awkward to pull out a camcorder such as on short outings or business trips the SDR-S7 is ideal..
