Customer Rating: Summary: JUST WHAT I NEEDED Comment: Received the Video Camera 3 days ago and from the moment I opened the box I have been delighted with this machine. Easy to use, no fidling with tapes, no discs, no motor sound, compact and attractive with it's silver finish. The software was easy to use, and I loaded it on to my laptop which runs Windows Vista, and was copying, and watching video in no time. I did not load the software on to my main computer as I was wary of the warnings on the bit of paper that came in the box that programmes could be deleted, and your computer could become unstable if running Windows XP. I will have to find out more about this issue before I risk losing any software. If you want an easy to carry, easy to use video camera look no further than this bit of equipment. It's a dawdle.
Customer Rating: Summary: Brilliant picture quality Comment: This camcorder is a great mix of portability and quality. It is small enough to fit into jeans pocket (okay with a bit of a bulge) but to me thats preferable to carrying a bulky camcorder bag. The build quality is excellent, everything just feels quality. The one touch disc burn option is cool and i bought an 8gb memory stick and burn it to a DVD+R dual layer with one touch. The top quality video is 1920x1080i at 16 mbps. It looks fantastic playing the avchd disc on the ps3, much more detailed and sharp than a DV cam. The colours look really natural too, not too saturated and not washed out.
Negatives? Stills are okay but have that interpolated look on close inspection. The battery life could have been better, and the titanium body is only half the body, the rest is hard plastic.
All in all, a fantasticly portable, really good qaulity camcorder.
Customer Rating: Summary: NOT MAC COMPATIBLE, I BEG TO DIFFER........ Comment: I purchased the Sony TG3 and have been extremely impressed with it. As a Mac user, I am always concerned with the compatibility of any produces I buy, and was sorry to see that some reviews have said that the Sony TG3 will not work on a Mac. After an anxious half hour of trying to get my Mac to recognize the camera I found that if you use the supplied dock my Mac had no problems with accessing the video or photo's I had shot on the TG3. The only things to remember are to ensure that you use the dock with power, and if you have shot both HD and standard video that you have to download then delete all the non HD footage first. All in all a blinding piece of kit.
Customer Rating: Summary: Simply Awesome Comment: This is fab!. I bought it after reading many reviews and have not been disappointed. As a complete beginner when it comes to using a camcorder I wanted something that was simple to use, but also delivered a quality result and this meets my needs perfectly.
From opening the box to getting started on recording it took just a couple of minutes. The touch screen options system makes it very easy. The design is sleek yet hard wearing and the size is perfect.
Putting recorded footage on your TV or computer is simple and the picture quality is awesome.
Highly recommended!
Customer Rating: Summary: Does it work with iMac or not?? Comment: I am looking to upgrade my camcorder to the Sony, and i am buying an iMac so want to make sure the camera works with the imac.
I see 3 conflicting reviews for this camera - can someone please tell me if it works with iMac for stills and video
It seems that Apple and more importantly Sony do not comment on this simple thing!
I would be eternally grateful!
thanks
