Summary: Good... but not great
Comment: GOOD
*More great guitar hero fun!
*I love aerosmith so hence I love the songs
*I've found this game slightly easier than guitar hero 3 which was a little too difficult
*Career mode consists of 31 songs and an additional 10 songs are unlockable

BAD
*Only 20 or so of the songs are actually by Aerosmith
*No new multiplayer options
*Only half the amount of songs as guitar hero 3, and yet the game is the same price
*What if you don't like Aerosmith? - you might not like it

Summary: Disappointing.......
Comment: After waiting eagerly for the Aerosmith incarnation of the Guitar Hero franchise I will say I am saddened by it....
Yes - there are new guitars and outfits to buy, Great!!
Yes - there are new songs to play if you have grown tired of the ones on 1,2,3 and Rock The 80's.
Yes - you do get little interview type snippets about Aerosmith between each section of Career mode.
Yes - You can hear the crowd joining in on the encore songs which is a nice touch.
BUT it is VERY disappointing that there are not more of the well known Aerosmith songs.
More commonly known songs on the game are Love in an Elevator, Walk This Way (and remix including Run DMC), Ragdoll, Pink, Living On The Edge, Dream On and Sweet Emotion......
This game really needed other songs including fan favourites like Jaded, (Dude) Looks Like A Lady, Cryin, Janie's Got A Gun, Crazy, Angel, and Don't Wanna Miss A Thing.
The opening act songs are nothing to get excited about and the covers although ok aren't brilliant.
The game also surprised me by not having a Co-Op career option as this was a great addition to GH3.
Also Steve Tylers face is really weird.... I am surprised he allowed the game to go on general sale!!
After completing all the songs on day of purchase I immediately got my antidote of Guitar Hero 3 out and played it happily!!

To sum up the game.
If you don't like Aerosmith - I wouldn't bother with it
If you do like Aerosmith - I wouldn't bother with it
If you LOVE Aerosmith - You might want it but I wouldn't bother with it
Buy it if you want different songs to add to your guitar hero collection, but that's about it really.
This game has 3 stars as it is a fun game, but fans will be sad that it wasn't a LOT better.
If you want a Guitar Hero game, my humble opinion says get GH3.

Editorial Reviews:

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith is the first game built around the legendary music of America’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll band: Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer. Fans will experience Aerosmith’s GRAMMY award winning career, from their first gig to becoming rock royalty, in a way that no other entertainment vehicle offers. As players progress through the game, they can rock out to the band’s greatest hits, as well as songs from other celebrated artists that the band has either performed with or has been inspired by in some way. Venues from historical moments during the band’s illustrious career offer the experience of "sweet emotion" and further capture the essence of the band’s rise to fame.

KEY FEATURES:

Let the music do the talking – The collaboration offers consumers an unprecedented level of access to Aerosmith’s music catalogue and an unbeatable soundtrack, with every Aerosmith song being a master recording. Each set includes chart-topping hits from renowned artists that the band has either performed with, or has been inspired by.

Rock this way, talk this way – Relive rock ‘n’ roll history and witness all five members of Aerosmith in all their glory. Motion capture sessions with each member of the band – including extensive facial motion capture featuring Steven Tyler’s lip movements to every song – further deepens the experience. Additionally, multiple memorable outfits capture the band’s rise to rock royalty, enabling players to feel like they’re really experiencing those historic performances.

It started with a little kiss, like this – Completely redesigned venues featuring locations from historical moments in the band’s career offers fans the opportunity to live the Aerosmith life. Starting with their first-ever concert at Nipmuc High School players ascend to the pinnacle of rock stardom.

Bass in the place – Enjoy the ultimate party experience in the Co-op quickplay game mode and shred as Joe Perry, Brad Whitford and Tom Hamilton or select your favourite fictional Guitar Hero.
