Summary: Superb Voice Quality Full Duplex Conferencing
Comment: Almost every conference room in the world uses a Polycom speakerphone. As I work from home I wanted something as good as the one I have in my office. Thanks to Polycom Soundpoint Pro SE-225, I can enjoy same audio quality right at home. This phone is best when used as a speaker phone however you have option to use its handset or attach a headset to its 2.5mm jack. A dedicated button makes it easy to switch between speaker/handset and headset. During conference calls, I hear everyone loud and clear. Most importantly people on the other end feel the same way. With SE-225 I talk naturally and effortlessly - making every call a more productive call. If you have a home office, do yourself a favor buy one; you won't be disappointed. It is a bit expensive but worth every penny.

Summary: Speaker hiss
Comment: The main speaker for this product is always powered, so there is a constant low level hiss. Polycom was very prompt and sent out a replacement, which had the same problem. In a normal office environment, the hiss will blend into the white noise background.

Summary: Outstanding Phone Set
Comment: Great home office phone. Speaker quality is good and as well with handset quality. Only minus is caller ID is difficult to read when on the phone.

Summary: The Speakerphone I've Been Searching For
Comment: I've had this phone for a few months now, and it does everything so well that I'm motivated to write this. The phone is really built around the speakerphone functionality. I have NEVER encountered a speaker on a desk phone that has the quality this one has. It is extremely high-fidelity. It also has two mikes, one in front and one in back in case you occasionally want to bring people into your office who sit across the desk from you to participate in conference calls. It also has a mini jack for use of headphone, and the relatively inexpensive Plantronics wireless phone headset works great with it. I have had many phones with speakers which were inadequate, mikes that make you hard to understand by the people you call and had frustrating/unworkable interfaces with headsets-- this does all three of these functions in a SPECTACULAR way.

Summary: Polycom phone
Comment: The features are what I wanted, but I have some issues with the phone.
People do say they can hear me crystal clear thru the speaker phone when I talk at in a normal voice. There is a buzzing issue though, if you wrap your phone cord around your hand it buzzes, strange but not a problem if you keep your arm and hand away from the wire.

Editorial Reviews:

SoundPoint Pro SE-225 seamlessly integrates handset and headset telephone functionality with crystal clear, hands-free voice conferencing in an elegant personal business phone. With the touch of a button, SoundPoint Pro SE-225 lets you hold clear, multipoint conference calls with up to two additional participants. Polycom's Acoustic Clarity Technology enables callers to speak when they want without clipped sentences and one-way conversations that are common with ordinary business speakerphones. The SoundPoint Pro SE-225 has versatile features like a front and rear-facing microphone for 360? voice conferencing coverage, and dialing is quick with the 99-number speed-dial capability. You can also connect an optional headset for quality, hands-free applications.
