I just finally wore it out. The new one has been in use for about a month now with no problems. It is our main land line phone so it gets a lot of abuse. It is a good, basic, no-frills phone that lasts. Sound quality excellent. We wanted a phone that had some weight, since we were concerned about it being knocked around on the table. This phone fits the bill. The sound is ok, but not always crystal-clear...however, there is a possibility that our lines are causing the problem.
