Customer Rating: Summary: GREAT!!!! Comment: I bought this for my son who is 13 ( at his request) and I play with it more than he does. He bought 2 and we sneak up on each other and attack. It's great for all ages and the Seller sent it in RECORD TIME. It's a good venting toy for kids of all ages.
Customer Rating: Summary: This is a great toy for little boys Comment: This toy is well made and a lot of fun. It is colorful and doesn't resemble a real gun. I bought it for my 5 and 3 year old sons, though my teenagers enjoy it as well!!! No need to reload after every shot and the darts stick very well. Just be sure that your children understand the difference between toy guns and real guns.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great nerf gun!!!!!! Comment: I got this gun and I have found that it isn't that accurate at long distances (30+), but if you're between about 1-29ft, it is very accurate. If you're missing most shots, try aiming a little above the target or getting a little closer. Also, usually, the darts can go pretty far, sometimes the gun will shoot the dart only about 5-10ft away, instead of the usual 15-40ft, but only maybe 2 times every 3 reloads in my experience.
This has not broken and I've had it for quite a while.
Don't get this unless you want to have lots of fun (and, come on, who doesn't?)
Customer Rating: Summary: Very Fun for indoor use Comment: I bought this gun mainly for it's looks and functionality when used indoors. It can shoot about 15 - 20 ft out of the box and can get about 30 - 35 ft if you want to modify it. It is a very durable toy, but if it does break, it will be the hammer pin that is used to prime the gun. The pin is held by plastic tabs that can wear down, but only from very heavy, heavy use. This gun has a high rate of fire but can misfire occasionally depending on the darts. The included darts are okay, but a bit too soft and thin. If you are able to find thicker darts, I would recommend it. The barrels are tapered so I would recommend not storing the darts in the barrel for a long period of time. And the color is the new yellow and black scheme, not the blue and silver as depicted.
Customer Rating: Summary: Modding community favorite Comment: What can be said about what is likely the single most popular Nerf gun.. I'm sorry 'blaster' on the market?
Well, I'm 24 and somewhat obsessed with Nerf guns, and the Maverick easily makes it in to my top 3 favorite guns, and is good competition for #1. It's got fair accuracy, good range (one of the best ranged for a Nerf handgun I've seen), and with the fact that it's a revolver, you can fire six shots before you have to reload.
But, you already know all of that, I'm sure.
The Maverick is also lends itself well to modding. The flow restrictors are easy to remove, which increases it's range and power. A quick mod allows the barrel to drop further out for quicker loading. And there are some impressive mods for it out there.
On the subject of modding, I did find that painting it can mess with the rotation action a little. I'll be working on my second here pretty soon and see if I can't avoid that.
Do note of course that Nerf guns are built how they are for safety reasons, and modding them, especially in removing some of these safety features can be dangerous (according to Hasbro), although modding can make the gun more likely to break.
