Customer Rating: Summary: Had better service before Cingular became AT&T again Comment: I was weary of AT&T turning into Cingular a while back, but was quite happy with Cingular. Now that they turned into AT&T again I have nothing but problems. My calls often get dropped or will not go through at all! It sometimes takes numerous attempts (6 or 7) to get through, if I don't give up first. I do not have an old phone, I recently bought a Blackberry Curve, which I felt improved my service quality from my old RAZRv3, but that perk quickly declined to worse service than ever before. I do not recommend this service. I'm thinking Verizon might be a good choice.
Customer Rating: Summary: AT&T works just fine for me! Comment: It's time for renewing my contract - so I was checking out all the providers for the best deal..
After checking the others -- I'll stay with AT&T.
I was very surprised to see the negative reviews for Cingular/AT&T -- because we've had NO PROBLEMS at all..
We move about the country quite a bit, and have service at least as good as any of our previous providers and better than most...
We have the cheapest family plan -- with two lines, and love the fact there is NEVER a roaming or long distance charge, and the unused minutes ROLL OVER and accumulate for a full year...
Tough to beat for the cheapest NO ROAMING, NO LONG DISTANCE CHARGES 2 phone family plan on the market.....
Awarded only 4 stars - I doubt ANY current wireless provider deserves 5 stars.
Customer Rating: Summary: Pretty Good Overall, but Sprint Offers 7pm minutes! Comment: Ever since I upgraded my phone, my service coverage greatly improved. I think the people with dropped calls and poor coverage either live in the middle of nowhere or have 10 year old phones.
I also like how if you call and speak to their "loyalty" department, they may be willing to give you a couple of hundred bonus minutes each month, to keep you as a customer. Note: you may want to try this towards the end of your contract, not the beginning. I am also impressed with the very short hold times to speak to an agent (Dial 611 on your phone).
The only thing that bothers me is that I am paying $40 for 450 minutes with anytime minutes kicking in at 9pm, when Sprint has the same plan with the minutes kicking in at 7pm!?
Get with the program, Cingular!
Customer Rating: Summary: Cingular Stinks Comment: Cingular has coverage, better than most, but be prepared to pay for it. Also, if you want a phone that does more than just make calls, like access the internet, beware: cigular just wants to provide voice service, and they don't maintain web services unless you are willing to shell out another five or ten bucks a month for some third party service that will probably not work on your phone. I had T-mobile but got tired of thier lousy coverage, so I got AT&T, who was a great provider. Now cigular owns me and they don't honor thier rollover plan, and my free services disappear monthly. Also, cigular loves to rob you if you need a new phone, no discounts or promotions, just full retail. I have a phone that can access the internet and folds open for easy email and text messaging, they offer no replacement for such a device, outside of a four hundred dollar Blackberry. I hate this company. They stiff you at every opportunity.
Customer Rating: Summary: 1 year contract?? Comment: I was looking for a new phone today and was surprised to see there are no plans with 1 yr. contract from cingular!! This is ridiculas.
