It came with a video on how to use it and do tricks, and she watched it before using it the first time. Even though MN winters start early, she has been on it more than what I expected. Comment: Speaking as a twenty-one year old college student I can confidently say that the Ripstik is one of the best purchases I have made in the recent past. It makes getting around campus exponentially easier. Sure, lots of people ride skateboards/long boards around here, but with the Ripstick one can propel oneself UPHILL. This makes it a breeze to get to classes/lunch/meetings/whatever (and invokes some serious jealousy from the 'pure boarders' out there. And yes, it's very fun to ride. The first day I got it I spent well over five hours riding around the neighborhood and campus (this with ABSOLUTELY NO SKATEBOARDING EXPERIENCE!). Inspired by the classic shape and design of a skateboard, the Ripstick looks like something out of the future. Instead of the traditional four-wheel skateboard, this amazing board can make smooth, quick 360-degree turns on just two wheels. Just stand on the sturdy traction plates and subtle movements propel the Ripstick even up a hill! The front and rear flexible panels are controlled by a spring-oriented bar located on the top of the wheels. The rugged polyurethane wheels are 77mm/85A with ABEC-5 bearings. Separating the two traction plates is a padded rubber carrying handle. Comes with an instructional DVD. Measures 33.5" long x 10" wide. Weighs 8 lbs. Wear helmet and pads for safety. 90-day warranty.
